Spotify Declines New Contract for the Obamas’ Podcast

Sometimes goodbyes are really easy.

This is one of those times.

Spotify has allegedly decided to part ways with Barack and Michelle Obama.

Spotify declined to grant the Obamas a new contract due to creative differences.

The Obamas’ media company, which is hilariously named “Higher Ground (Their arrogance knows no bounds),” is left to shop around for a new home.

Looks like Barack Obama failed where Joe Rogan succeeded.

Something tells me the Obamas won’t be missed.

The New York Post reports on the Spotify/Obama split:

The Obamas are searching for a new home for their podcasts after Spotify reportedly declined to offer the former first couple a new contract because they didn’t make enough personal appearances on the streaming service.

Barack and Michelle Obama are reportedly in talks with several companies, including Amazon’s Audible and iHeartMedia, on a deal that will likely be worth tens of millions of dollars, according to Bloomberg News.

The ex-president and the former first lady, who co-own the production company Higher Ground, will reportedly decide on their podcasting platform of choice sometime within the next few weeks.

Here’s more details on the split from Fox News:

However, Bloomberg News indicated that the move was not the former president’s choice.

“It has talked with multiple big networks, including Spotify, but the Swedish streaming giant declined to make an offer, according to three sources familiar with the discussions,” Bloomberg News wrote.

Spotify did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Other media outlets reported:

They really won’t be missed:
