Florida Rejects 41% of all K-5 Math Books Due to the Inclusion of CRT

The Department of Education in Florida just banned 41% of mathematics textbooks that have been submitted for use in their public schools.

They cited the inclusion of critical race theory as the main reason for rejecting the books.

Florida governor Ron DeSantis has led the charge in the battle against CRT.

He praised the Department of Education for taking this stance.

Democrats are furious over the decision, and claim that republicans are just trying to attack education.

They also have made claims that republicans are attempting to ‘cover up’ history by banning certain school books.

Republicans have fired back by revealing that some math books in the country contain strange and out-of-place references to race, sex, and gender.

Fox News has the latest on Florida’s attempts to protect students from CRT propaganda:

Florida’s Department of Education (DOE) rejected 41% of mathematics textbooks submitted for use in the state’s public schools Friday, citing critical race theory and other issues with the texts.

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has led a push to reform education standards and practices in the state. Florida called for textbook submissions from publishers in 2021 in accordance with a 2019 executive order from DeSantis aimed at eliminating Common Core standards in the state. The textbooks rejected “were impermissible with either Florida’s new standards or contained prohibited topics.”

Our friends at Newsmax have more on governor Ron DeSantis’ reaction to the decision by the Florida Department of Education:

“It seems that some publishers attempted to slap a coat of paint on an old house built on the foundation of Common Core, and indoctrinating concepts like race essentialism, especially, bizarrely, for elementary school students,” he said in the news release.

DeSantis has insisted students should be taught basic subjects in school free of ideological messaging.

CRT was banned from Florida classrooms by the state’s Board of Education in June 2021.

Leftists have taken this story and ran with it in an attempt to paint republicans in a bad light by claiming that CRT doesn’t exist:

It is odd that the democrats are claiming that republicans’ true motivation is to cover up history in the guise of calling it CRT.

Last I checked, Math has nothing to do with history…

It is more likely that leftists are just shoving CRT into everything they possibly can in hopes that nobody notices.
