WATCH: Paralyzed Rep. Cawthorn STANDS To Deliver Remarks at Trump Rally

The newest class of pro-Trump lawmakers on Capitol Hill have developed a knack for creating viral moments.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) caused a stir when they spoke out in protest during Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) recently vowed that he would nominate Donald Trump to serve as speaker of the House if Republicans gain a majority in Congress.

Perhaps the most inspiring moment in recent memory, however, came when Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) stood up to speak at a pro-Trump rally in his home state.

Cawthorn was paralyzed in a car crash about eight years ago, but he was able to rise out of his wheelchair for a portion of his latest public address.

As our friends over at the Gateway Pundit explained:

During his speech today Madison Cawthorn stood up from his chair and finished his speech. It was a remarkable moment. Madison then promised to investigate Dr. Tony Fauci for his crimes and impeach Joe Biden for his dereliction of duty. The crowd loved it!

When his speech was over he moved back to his chair and sat down by himself.

This was a special moment for a special young man.

Cawthorn has been a prominent figure in Congress since he was elected in 2020.

He often uses his popular Twitter account to speak out against progressive politicians and stand up for his own beliefs.

Before he rose to his feet and addressed a crowd of supporters in North Carolina, the lawmaker had been in the news for a variety of reasons.

Most recently, he attracted attention for his claims that fellow legislators engaged in depraved sex- and drug-fueled parties.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was among those in the party who reacted harshly to Cawthorn’s allegations.

According to CBS News:

McCarthy told reporters on Capitol Hill that he told Cawthorn during a private meeting that the first-term congressman “lost my trust,” and the allegations Cawthorn had made during a podcast interview last week were “exaggerated,” according to Axios.

“It’s just frustration. There’s no evidence behind his statements,” McCarthy said, according to reports, adding, “I told him you can’t make statements like that, as a member of Congress, that affects everybody else and the country as a whole.”

The GOP leader said Cawthorn’s comments upset many lawmakers, and he warned Cawthorn could face consequences for what McCarthy said are “unacceptable” remarks.” McCarthy also told reporters that Cawthorn acknowledged some of his claims were “exaggerated.”

“In the interview, he claims he watched people do cocaine. Then when he comes in he tells me — he says he thinks he saw maybe a staffer in a parking garage from 100 yards away,” McCarthy told reporters.

Although there is still some uncertainty swirling around Cawthorn’s claims about his colleagues on Capitol Hill, there is no doubt that his display at the recent Trump rally was something to be celebrated.

Here’s a video of his powerful address.
