In my opinion, this was the best clip of the day.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis visited the University of South Florida to announce funding for cybersecurity education.
As DeSantis took the podium, he voiced his frustration with the nauseating COVID theater by the students standing behind him.
“You do not have to wear those masks. Please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything. We’ve gotta stop with this Covid theater. So if you wanna wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous,” said DeSantis.

DeSantis is 100% based with this comment.
Masks are useless at warding off the spread of COVID-19 and cause bacterial pneumonia, increased carbon dioxide intake, hypoxia, and numerous other health impairments.
It’s theater!
Any Republican governor who doesn’t take this hardline stance against this nonsense isn’t doing enough to end COVID shenanigans.
Although DeSantis spoke at a university, reports indicate he made the remarks to high school students from the Hillsborough School District.
The school district responded to the video:
NEW: Statement from @HillsboroughSch Superintendent Addison Davis —
"It is a student and parents' choice to protect their health in a way they feel most appropriate. We are proud of the manner in which our students represented themselves."https://t.co/BDDnBpwvRC @WFLA pic.twitter.com/8pe2YWFj9u

Unsurprisingly, the far-left media seized the opportunity to make Gov. DeSantis the bad guy.
A reporter from WFLA News Channel 8 interviewed students and parents from the presser:
"I would tell (the governor) to stop bullying kids."
Kevin Brown says Gov. DeSantis had no right to tell his son and the other high school students to take off their masks.
His son decided to keep his mask on during the press conference at USF. https://t.co/JNYeA9dYci @WFLA pic.twitter.com/nnBTJNmfQF

There’s one key statement DeSantis made that they’re forgetting to mention:

Ironically, it doesn’t appear the student from the first clip was upset about taking off his mask:

WFLA published this pathetic smear against DeSantis for rightfully pointing out the idiocy of COVID mask theater while still giving them freedom of choice:
The governor’s opposition to masks is no secret. He made a series of moves last year to block mask mandates, even signing an executive order withholding state funds from schools that impose them. In February, he endorsed a House proposal to strip $200 million in funding from 12 school districts that defied his order banning mask mandates. Last month, he said parents should be given the power to sue school districts if they have a child who “was illegally forced-masked this year in Florida.”
In a statement to 8 On Your Side, the governor’s office stood by his message to the students.
“As the governor said, ‘you can wear them if you want’ but there’s ‘no evidence’ masks make any difference,” said press secretary Christina Pushaw. “That has been clear for a long time, and the data informed our state’s official guidance. Following Florida, the CDC has even stopped recommending mask wearing for most Americans. After two years of mixed messages from health authorities and the media, the governor wants to make sure everyone is aware of the facts and data now, so they can feel free and comfortable without a mask.”
He said students who have speech, emotional and physical problems should also be able to sue.
Wouldn’t you like to see more Republican governors make this stance against nonsense COVID theater?
