WATCH: CPAC Gives Democrat Standing Ovation for Exposing ‘Clinton Corruption’

It’s not every day that a group of conservatives gives a prominent Democrat a standing ovation.

But that’s exactly what happened at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference.

Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) was invited to address the annual event and her denunciation of failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton clearly resonated with the crowd.

Although she is known for pushing some seriously far-left ideas, she is also able to find common ground with those across the aisle.

Not only has she been a frequent guest on Fox News in recent years, but the organizers of CPAC felt she deserved to have a prominent position in this year’s conference.

And she didn’t disappoint.

The Daily Mail had all the details:

She pleased the right-leaning crowd by saying that in an ideal world ‘our leaders would haul James Clapper before a judge to answer for his lies to Congress about how the government is collecting information.’

‘And they would support the Durham investigation and Clinton corruption in 2016… ,’ she said, not even finishing her sentence before there was raucous applause.

She went after both Democrats and Republicans in Congress ‘who talk a good game about civil liberties, but when it comes time to cast that vote on things like getting rid of secret FISA courts and protecting our fourth amendment rights to privacy, they vote on the side of the power elite and against liberty.’

Gabbard, who mounted her own long-shot White House bid in 2020, has been a frequent critic of the Clintons.

In 2019, for example, she offered a scathing rebuke on Twitter.

Her animosity toward Hillary Clinton has resurfaced several times since then, including earlier this month.

More recently, she has taken to social media to express some views about the Ukraine crisis that don’t align with her own party.

Newsmax chronicled more of her recent remarks.

Gabbard, speaking as a moderate in a party increasingly taken over by progressives, said the mainstream media has been protecting the Clintons.

“The mainstream media has been intentionally burying this story. This should be distressing to all Americans,” Gabbard said on Fox News. “Just seeing how all this has been playing out recently and over the last year has only further reinforced that.

“The real question that we’re gonna be left with now is: Will [Hillary Clinton] and her co-conspirators actually be held accountable for their actions in undermining our democracy. These are very serious concerns that we need to continue to push to the forefront to do our best to make sure that that accountability actually happens.”
