They’ll call anything they don’t like ‘Russian propaganda‘, won’t they?
According to a recent article published by The Associated Press, U.S. intelligence officials claim that the popular conservative leaning news site Zero Hedge is a conduit for Russian propaganda.
These same sources also go on to say that there is no direct link or proof between Russian spies and Zero Hedge…
So basically they are just making claims because it furthers some agenda that they have.
They are playing the same games they did with President Trump, and the same games they will continue to play if the intelligence agencies and their mouthpieces in the mainstream press are not brought to heel.
Here’s more on the story:
Translation: the AP allowed anonymous US officials to use them as a conduit to call @zerohedge a front for Russian propaganda, even though they admit the alleged association is not based on any "direct links" — i.e., no real evidence. The Associated Press claimed:
The officials said Zero Hedge, which has 1.2 million Twitter followers, published articles created by Moscow-controlled media that were then shared by outlets and people unaware of their nexus to Russian intelligence. The officials did not say whether they thought Zero Hedge knew of any links to spy agencies and did not allege direct links between the website and Russia.
Zero Hedge denied the claims and said it tries to “publish a wide spectrum of views that cover both sides of a given story.” In a response posted online Tuesday morning, the website said it “has never worked, collaborated or cooperated with Russia, nor are there any links to spy agencies.”

It's not about Zero Hedge. It's not about Russian propaganda. It's not about Covid misinformation, election security, foreign trolls or QAnon. It's about ruling power structures needing to normalize and expand the regulation of online speech to protect consent for the status quo.

Caitlin Johnstone writes via her Substack page:
You have to scroll down to the eleventh paragraph for some examples of the “Kremlin propaganda” that Zero Hedge is accused of “amplifying”.
These turn out to be entirely innocuous objections to western imperial narratives that were “written by people affiliated with the Strategic Culture Foundation,” an outlet the Biden administration sanctioned last year “for allegedly taking part in Russia’s interference in the 2020 U.S. election.”
