Horrifying new details on Brian Laundrie’s death have been revealed following the release of his full autopsy.
The autopsy revealed that Laundrie indeed died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
It also revealed that his scattered bones showed signs of “gnawing and chewing” consistent with that of wild dogs and rodents.
Laundrie made headlines last year following the disappearance of his fiancé Gabby Petito.

The two embarked on a cross-country trip together last Summer.
Laundrie returned from the trip without Petito in early September.
He then disappeared a few weeks later, which led to a nationwide manhunt.
Only a few days later, Gabby’s remains were discovered in Wyoming.
The coroner determined that she had died of strangulation.
Weeks later, Laundrie’s remains were discovered in a Florida nature preserve and his death was ruled a suicide.
Authorities also found a notebook in which Laundrie took responsibility for Gabby’s death.

The New York Post reports on these bone-chilling new details:
Grisly new details emerged Monday in the death of Brian Laundrie, including that his scattered bones had been gnawed on by rodents and feral dogs after his death.
Laundrie, 23, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head that caused extensive fractures in his skull, according to a newly released report by a Florida medical examiner’s office.
The single bullet entered his brain at the left temple and exited through the right, traveling slightly upward, said the full autopsy and forensic report.
Authorities recovered “the vast majority of [his] skeleton” — aside from a few bones from his teeth and his face — scattered “in plain sight,” they said.
His bones showed signs of “gnawing and chewing” from “post-mortem scavenging/carnivore activity” — including on portions of his arms and legs, the report said.

CNN has more on the 47-page autopsy report:
The 47-page report also detailed items recovered from the scene where Laundrie’s remains were found including a backpack with a tent and flares, a piece of paper and red hat with the logo “Moab Coffee Roasters” and a wooden box that contained a small notebook and photos, according to the report.
In the notebook found with his remains, Laundrie wrote he was responsible for Gabby Petito’s death, according to the FBI.
Laundrie had been the subject of a weekslong manhunt when his body was found. His family was informed he shot himself in the head, and his death was ruled a suicide, Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino said in November.
