It is no surprise to most Americans when Joe Biden engages in some type of strange behavior in public.
For many critics, it is a sign that he is experiencing age-related cognitive decline.
Others believe he has always been a little creepy and is merely getting worse in his old age.
Whatever the reason, there are plenty of examples to showcase his strange conduct.
Most recently, he revisited his penchant for leaning in close to a microphone and whispering certain parts of a speech.
This time, he was attempting to deliver a coherent thought about his administration’s efforts to advance cancer research.

Of course, he has caused confusion with similar behavior in the past.
As ABC News reported in July:
Biden folded his arms, rested on the lectern, leaned into the mic and lowered his voice.
“Hey, guys, I think it’s time to give ordinary people a tax break,” he said, almost whispering as he addressed his critics. “The wealthy are doing fine.”
It was the latest instance of Biden speaking volumes by whispering.
The White House and communications experts say Biden’s whispering is just this veteran politician’s old-school way of trying to make a connection while emphasizing a point.
Biden’s critics on the right as well as some late-night TV talk show hosts say the whispers are “creepy” and “weird.” Conservatives use the dramatic soft talk to fuel the narrative that the Democratic president is unfit for the job, and comedians deploy it to generate laughs.
The bizarre whispers attracted widespread mockery on social media.

The Biden lean in and long whisper into the mic was very very bizarre.

This is not the only behavior that has caused critics to label Biden “creepy.”
For years before the 2020 election, he had faced backlash over his tendency to invade the personal space of others — particularly women and children.
Even leftist comedian Trevor Noah voiced his disgust, as Vanity Fair reported in 2019:
“It’s definitely not O.K.,” the comedian said. “I mean, smelling hair is always weird. I don’t care who it is—even if you’re in a relationship, if you smell your girlfriend’s hair, she won’t say anything but in her head she’ll be like, ‘Is he a serial killer?’ Honestly, smelling hair is one of the creepiest things you can do. It’s on the list of creepy things; it’s right after collecting doll parts and sneezing with your eyes open.”
And as for the alleged nose-rubbing? “Let me put it this way,” Noah said, “if rubbing noses was just Biden being cute, and being a harmless grandpa, how come you’ve never seen him do it with men? Biden spent eight years hanging out with Barack Obama and not once was he like, ‘Congrats on passing Obamacare!’” (At that point, Noah rubbed noses with an invisible Obama.)
Here is an extended compilation of his hair-sniffing habit:
Do you think Joe Biden is too creepy to serve in the White House?
