White House press secretary Jen Psaki is at it again.
She has long attracted criticism for engaging in dishonest spin or seeking to just bypass any criticism of Joe Biden’s radical agenda.
This time, she dodged some tough questions about the ongoing border crisis during an appearance on Fox News.
Although critics might be tempted to give her some credit for agreeing to the interview, it was clear that she had no plans to provide a direct answer.
In fact, the hosts seemed absolutely confused by her efforts to avoid addressing the surge of immigrants illegally crossing into the United States from Mexico.
As the New York Post explained:
During Thursday’s interview, Psaki was also pressed on the ongoing border crisis, which was not brought up during the president’s Q&A with reporters.
“In 2021, we believe there were 2 million encounters in the southern border. Just blowing away all kinds of records,” co-host Bill Hemmer stated, pointing to a recent Fox News report that calculated the total number of encounters last year. “There does not seem to be much of a suggestion that the policy is going to change. Should we expect two million more encounters in the year 2022?”
“What the president’s view is, is that we need to do more – we need to fix our broken immigration system,” Psaki responded. “That means smarter security at the border. It also means a more moral approach to how we’re treating people when they come across the border.”
The press secretary also insisted that the US has not “done enough to address root causes” in migrants’ home countries.
Check out some of her pitiful performance on the recent episode of “America’s Newsroom”:
Of course, co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino are not the only ones who are fed up with the Biden administration’s efforts to downplay the border crisis.
In fact, even some fellow Democrats are placing blame on the White House.
Former U.S. Rep. Tusli Gabbard (D-HI) has taken on Biden’s “open door” immigration policies on several occasions.
.@JoeBiden @KamalaHarris, the humanitarian and national security crisis on the southern border is the direct result of your open-border policy. As I said in my 2020 presidential campaign, we can’t have a secure nation if we don’t secure our borders.

The Biden/Harris open-door policy has been a disaster. It needs to end now. The main beneficiaries of open borders are the gangs, cartels, and human traffickers. The Trump policy of having people wait on the other side of the border worked and needs to be reinstated.

The latest numbers seem to show that the problem along America’s southern border keeps getting worse.
According to a recent Fox News report:
Migrant encounters at the southern border increased again in December from the prior month, according to data provided to a federal court by the Biden administration — the latest sign that the crisis at the border is likely to continue into 2022.
According to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data provided in the Jan 14 filing, there were 178,840 migrant encounters in December, up from 173,620 in November. That in turn was an increase from the 164,753 apprehensions in October.
Those numbers are drastically higher than the previous year, when there were 72,113 encounters in November and 73,994 in December.
CBP has not yet officially released its monthly operational update, and told Fox that it does not provide preliminary data or comment before the update posts. A spokesperson said that the official data should be published in the coming days.
Of the 178,840 apprehensions, 78,589 were expelled via Title 42 — the Trump era public health order that has been kept in a limited capacity and can be used to expel migrants quickly at the southern border.
The documents also show that 55,626 migrants were released into the U.S. Of those, 36,652 were released on an order of recognizance with a Notice to Appear at an eventual court hearing. Meanwhile, nearly 19,000 were given humanitarian parole — which is used on a “case by case basis” for an urgent humanitarian or significant public benefit reason.
The number of illegal entries into the United States has been at a frustratingly high level since Biden entered office.
Plenty of Republicans clearly want to see the White House held accountable for the troubling trend.
Joe Biden has not just ignored the border crisis; he has enabled it.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently brought attention to some of the outrageous policies Biden has implemented to cover up for his failures.

It is clear that the border crisis is getting out of hand.
Do you agree that Joe Biden and his far-left Democratic allies are responsible?
