Brazilian journalist Rafael Silva, 36, from TV Alterosa, collapsed during a live broadcast on Monday.
After Silva’s sudden fainting on the presentation called “Alterosa Alerta,” emergency personnel rushed him to the hospital, where he’s now in ICU.
On the way, Silva suffered five cardiac arrests.

Alterosa Alerta has the clip of Silva appearing to faint on their website, but they quickly cut to another take when he starts to fall.
The footage was included in a report titled “É estável o estado de saúde do apresentador Rafael Silva” (The State of Health of the Presenter Rafael Silva is Stable).

On December 28th, Silva tweeted that he received his COVID-19 booster dose:

The tweet translates to read:

TV presenter and reporter Rafael Silva was hospitalized after suffering a cardiac arrest during yesterday’s live news broadcast on TV Alterosa. Silva was covering a news story when he suddenly fainted and collapsed.
The 36-year-old had received his COVID-19 booster shot just a week ago.
Silva, who is the presenter of ‘Jornal das 7‘, appeared to faint while he was going over a news report. The camera quickly cut to some pre-filmed footage while he was attended to.
The 36-year-old was rushed to hospital after the incident where he began showing signs of improvement, according to TV Alterosa producer Kadu Lopes:
“He is responding to the treatment and is moving his hands and feet. This is good, according to doctors.
We still don’t know what happened to Rafael.”
Silva will remain in intensive care and a new set of medical exams will be performed this Tuesday.
Portal Tucuma added:
Reporter Rafael Silva , from Alterosa Alerta Sul de Minas, had a sudden illness and passed out live in the late morning of this Monday (3/1).
In a statement, TV Alterosa (SBT affiliate) informed that the journalist was quickly assisted by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to the Humanitás hospital, a few kilometers from Varginha (MG). There is still no more information about his health status.
