New York City apparently has a racial preference in handling Covid-19 policy.
According to their own policy guidelines, New York City is prioritizing treatment for non-white Latino and Hispanic citizens of the city…
They claim the reason for this is that the group is considered ‘high risk’.
No lawsuits have yet been filed in response to an obviously discriminatory policy for potentially life saving medical treatment in the city.
Many took to Twitter to sharply criticize the move:

Fox News reports:
The plan includes a section on eligibility for the scarce antiviral pills that people must meet to receive the treatment, including a line stating a person needs to have “a medical condition or other factors that increase their risk for severe illness.”
One such “risk factor” is being a race or ethnicity that is not White due to “longstanding systemic health and social inequities”
“Who issued this?” “Who actually wrote it and approved it?” “Did the Governor know?” All will be crucial questions. As will the reactions of the Governor, state AG and AG Garland. Question for them all: “Do you believe state action based in any way on race is constitutional?” https://t.co/Kl9Om5rE9c

The New York Post tells us that fears over the Omicron variant are already stressing Covid supplies in New York City:
Fear of the highly transmissible Omicron variant led to long lines for COVID-19 testing across New York City on Thursday — with demand outstripping supply at some spots.
Supermarket worker Dianna Carlisi, 30, said she was waiting to get tested at a pop-up site in Astoria, Queens, because “I’ve just been feeling a little under the weather.”
