Fauci Says No Kissing or Hugging On New Years

Fauci wants to tell Americans what they can and cannot do yet again…

In Fauci’s latest television appearance, the attention seeking Doctor urged for Americans to only attend New Years Eve gatherings amongst vaccinated or booster individuals.

That wasn’t all though, Fauci also stated that Americans should not give anyone a New Years Eve Kiss or hug due to the recent Omicron variant outbreak.

Good thing Fauci’s voice has no real power unless you obey him because a booster only New Year’s Eve party sounds super lame!

US News shared more details on the story:

The nation’s leading infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci OK’d small, at-home New Year’s Eve gatherings among vaccinated and boosted individuals on Wednesday, but he urged Americans to cancel plans to attend larger parties as conditions become more grim amid the omicron variant.

“If your plans are to go to a 40- to 50-person New Year’s Eve party with all the bells and whistles and everybody hugging and kissing and wishing each other a happy new year, I would strongly recommend that this year we do not do that,” Fauci said during the White House COVID-19 briefing Wednesday.

For smaller gatherings, Fauci warned that “although the risk is never zero in anything, the risk is low enough that we feel you should continue to go through with those plans of having a home-related vaccinated, boosted gathering with family and close friends who are also vaccinated and boosted.”

CNBC got the scoop too:

White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci on Wednesday said Americans should avoid large New Year’s Eve parties as the highly transmissible omicron variant drives U.S. Covid cases to their highest levels of the pandemic.

However, Fauci said small gatherings with family and close friends are low risk if everyone at the gathering is vaccinated and boosted if they are eligible.

“If your plans are to go to a 40-to-50 person New Year’s Eve party with all the bells and whistles and everybody hugging and kissing and wishing each other a Happy New Year — I would strongly recommend that, this year, we do not do that,” Fauci said during a White House update on the pandemic.

His comments come as cities scale back their New Year’s Eve festivities. New York City has imposed a capacity limit of 15,000 people on its annual celebration at Times Square.

The event normally draws 58,000 people. All attendees are required to provide proof of vaccination.
