NHL executives decided to give their players a well-deserved break and four days to spend with their families over the Christmas holiday.
I wish that was the reality of the NHL’s league suspension, but sadly, it’s for a moronic reason.
The NHL is shutting down operations for four days due to the league’s surge in COVID-19 cases.
The league is virtually 100% vaccinated yet couldn’t avoid a pause due to their idiotic COVID-19 protocols.

The Athletic reported:
The NHL and NHLPA have agreed to suspend operations from Dec. 22-25, with team facilities reopening no earlier than 2 p.m. local time on Dec. 26, according to multiple reports Monday night. There will be no testing and no practices during that time.
Tuesday’s remaining games, the Washington Capitals at Philadelphia Flyers and the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Vegas Golden Knights, will continue as planned, pending any positive test results. The other eight games scheduled for Tuesday had already been postponed.
Prior to this announcement, 44 games have been postponed as a result of a surge in players being placed in COVID-19 protocol. The league announced on Sunday they had postponed cross-border games through Dec. 23.
All four games scheduled for Wednesday had already been postponed. Ten of the 15 games scheduled for Thursday had also previously been postponed, before the already scheduled off days on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Dec. 26. Action is scheduled to resume with 14 games on Dec. 27.
Yahoo Sports added:
The league also said Sunday that it would announce a decision in the coming days regarding players participating in the Olympics. They have until Jan. 10 to opt out of the Olympics without financial penalties. It is “highly unlikely” that NHL players will go to the Olympics, ESPN reported.
Most NHL players in COVID-19 protocols are listed as asymptomatic or mild cases.

According to ESPN, all of the players in the NHL with Covid have either no symptoms or have very mild symptoms of Covid. What are we doing here? Come back to Earth.

Yet, COVID hysteria is running the 2021-2022 NHL season into the ground.
My advice for the players is to boycott until the league ends its ridiculous policies.
But I highly doubt they’ll have the courage to pull that move.
