CNN In Crisis Mode?: Jussie Smollett Testifies Don Lemon Texted Him Heads Up About Cops

As the trial of disgraced actor Jussie Smollett continues this week, we are learning more details behind the incident that landed him six counts of felony disorderly conduct.

One of the juiciest revelations came from Smollett’s testimony, where he revealed that he and CNN anchor Don Lemon had exchanged texts in the weeks following the “attack”.

Smollett testified that Lemon provided him a “heads up” that law enforcement investigators were beginning to question the legitimacy of his story.

It is not clear how Don Lemon obtained that information.

However, if the media’s behavior during the Russian Collusion narrative is any indication of how things work around there, you can probably figure that one out.

Fox News has been reporting on the ongoing court room activity:

Jussie Smollett, on trial for allegedly staging a hate crime against himself, testified Monday that he had correspondence with CNN’s Don Lemon during the early parts of the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) investigation into the incident.

Smollett, 39, testified that he received a text from Lemon, supposedly relaying information that the CPD didn’t believe Smollett’s account of what happened, Fox News’ Matt Finn reported from the Windy City courthouse.

Reps for CNN and Lemon did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Lemon told his viewers at the time that the story was “personal” since he and Smollett had been acquaintances and were in constant communication since the alleged incident and that Smollett told Lemon what he said had happened to him, which he admitted raised lots of questions.

He stressed that while Smollett is “innocent until proven guilty,” he still “squandered the good will of a whole lot of people” if his story wasn’t true.

“He even lied to a lot of people… including me. And that’s not cool,” Lemon said to his viewers. “He squandered the good will of very high-profile people who one day may be running this country like Kamala Harris and Cory Booker and people like President Trump.”

Monday’s court testimony also saw Smollett testify that an interview he gave to “Good Morning America” was heavily edited.

“Every breath, every emotion is chopped so you really can’t understand it,” Smollett said of the sit-down conversation.

Smollett further pressed that he turned down an Alicia Keys invitation to perform on stage during the Grammys because he wanted to perform as a singer and not as a singer who was beaten up, according to Finn.

Even more embarrassing for Lemon, he chose to go on television last night to cover the trial and failed to mention any part of Smollett’s testimony regarding their interaction.

Why were Don and Jussie texting?

Of course, anyone could be friends.

But not all friends would tip each other off about the heat they are taking from the police. You’d have to be a pretty good friend.

Not only to share the information itself but to also risk exposing how you obtained the information itself. There’s no reasonable explanation why Lemon would have known that outside of random occurrence.

Last I checked, Don Lemon is not an undercover member of law enforcement.

CIA asset maybe. But not a cop.

If it’s one thing Don Lemon can’t afford, it’s heat on himself.

Chris Cuomo was of course just fired for sexual misconduct. CNN is facing a world of criticism.

Not just because their reporting is trash and their brand is disgraced. But because Cuomo isn’t the only one over at CNN to land himself in hot water for sexual misconduct.

Lemon was sued back in 2019 by a Hamptons bartender, who said Lemon rubbed his genitals and then stuck a finger in his face.

At least buy him dinner first, Don.

This article from the Daily Mail details the allegations:

SIGN THE PETITION: Release The Epstein Client List!

A bartender who claims CNN anchor Don Lemon jammed his finger in his face after rubbing his own genitals has said the news network is ‘a predator protecting machine’ that’s ‘rife with perverts.’

Dustin Hice, 41, spoke out in the wake of Chris Cuomo’s termination from the news channel after a sexual misconduct allegation was leveled at him last week, in the wake of another scandal involving his ties to his alleged sex pest brother Andrew.

Hice filed a suit against Lemon, 55, in August 2019 alleging that the CNN star assaulted him at a Hamptons bar. Lemon denies the allegations.

‘They’re a network rife with predators and perverts,’ Hice told Fox News Digital.

I’d hate to be Jeff Zucker right now.

The world’s running out of scum bags for him to put on television.
