Our top journalists have been punked by a fake meme about President Trump.
The most embarrassing part?
They believed it and shared it to all their followers.
Dozens of high profile, blue-check mark Twitter accounts shared a supposed Christmas card from President Trump.
Even living legend Dan Rather shared it on his verified account.
The only problem?
It was fake.
If our top journalists are so easily fooled by an obviously fake Christmas card, is it any surprise that they regularly report fake news?
More details below:
Plenty of blue tick accounts are currently spreading a fake "Donald Trump Christmas card" (left), which is so obviously made up. The real one (right) is available to purchase on the former president's website. pic.twitter.com/TToXx93rOE

Think about it…
President Trump is one of the richest people in the world.
The card is clearly terrible photoshop.
He would have never approved the font that was used.
And here’s the kicker: whoever created this card wanted Trump to look… well, um… phallic.
Take a look below?
Oh where to begin with this monstrosity?
🔺Trump is not president
🔺 Mar-a-Lago was never the WH
🔺Trump has Ivanka before Melania in the ornament line up
🔺 Where's Barron?
🔺Look at the white front of Trump's tux. Why does Santa & reindeer look like ejaculate from a big penis? pic.twitter.com/KviDRcg217— Victoria Brownworth (@VABVOX) December 6, 2021
This is ALL I can see on Trump’s Christmas card. Also, where’s Barron? pic.twitter.com/NDd2HIHQbp

PSA: The viral "Trump Christmas card" is fake

If journalists can’t even fact check a Christmas card, how can we possibly trust them with more important matters?!
Twitchy confirms this embarrassing dilemma:
Hey! In case you forgot, Twitter is still exceptionally stupid, especially when it comes to any and all things Trump-related. For example, the idjits have now fallen for a Trump Christmas card that is obviously fake … unless you suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome and have lost your ability to think.
At all.
[…]
Where to begin with how stupid someone has to be to believe this is real?
Heh.
Good to see how much investigating this ‘award-winning investigative journalist’ did on the fake Trump card.
These are the same journalists who were awarded prizes for reporting on fake Trump stories based on “anonymous sources.”
I don’t know about you, but clearly these journalists have no credibility left in my eyes.
Uproxx chimed in, pointing out that even BBC journalists are pointing out it’s fake:
As pointed out by the BBC’s Shayan Sardarizadeh, “Plenty of blue tick accounts are currently spreading a fake ‘Donald Trump Christmas card’ (left), which is so obviously made up. The real one (right) is available to purchase on the former president’s website.” Each card costs $10, but Twitter is free. Stick with Twitter.
Even with Trump out of the White House, all the left can think about is President Trump!
He truly lives rent free in their minds.
You’ve gotta love it!
