Yes, Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) did vote against the Build Back Better plan.
While this looks like a small win, in reality, it is far from it.
From The Hill:
Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) was the sole Democrat to vote against the Build Back Better Act on Friday.
Golden revealed his plans for voting against the massive spending bill on Thursday in a statement to the Bangor Daily News, citing tax rule changes that would likely benefit the wealthy.
Golden said he felt Democrats could “do better” than what has already been included in the social spending package. However, he did not rule out voting for the bill once it made its way through the Senate.
“Many of my colleagues argue this major line item is worth accepting to pass the rest of the bill,” Golden said in a statement to the newspaper. “I disagree: the SALT giveaway in the Build Back Better Act is larger than the child care, pre-K, healthcare or senior care provisions of the bill.”
On the surface this looks like a Democrat who has come to his senses.
Well, the truth is that he is just acting a bit more selfish than his colleagues and he does not really mind the bill at all.
This version of the Build Back Better Act is not the best deal for my constituents.
When the bill returns to the House, here are some of the changes for working people that could get me to a yes vote:

This version of the bill is not the best deal for my constituents. I’m going to keep pushing to make changes to the Build Back Better Act so that it lives up to its goals and delivers the best possible deal for the people I represent.

In the end of this twitter rant we see what really matters to Jared Golden and it is not to oppose the Build Back Better plan.
The truth is that he simply wants more for himself and his state so that he can look good in front of his constituents.
He wouldn’t oppose this bill if it had more provisions in it for him.
This is much different than what Bernie Sanders has to say about it.
Let me say it again. You can’t be a political party that talks about demanding the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes, and then end up with a bill that gives large tax breaks to millionaires. You can’t do that. The hypocrisy is too strong. It’s bad policy, it’s bad politics.

Even a communist like Bernie is upset about the Democratic party saying one thing and doing the opposite.
At this point in time the bill has passed in the House and moves on to the Senate.
We are hoping Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema will stand their ground and refuse to say yes to the bill.
But what if they are just like Jared Golden?
What do you think will happen if the Democratic party adjusts the bill to make it more appealing for Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema?
Do you think they will still oppose signing it?
Or, will they tow the line the way Democrats always do and vote in unison?
It's not "Build Back Better," it's "Build Back Broke."
Higher taxes, skyrocketing inflation, the most expensive Thanksgiving in history, and this administration isn't worried. When they're not, you know we have to be. pic.twitter.com/mWEAFtF4Kj
