Everyday that I wake up knowing that a big news day awaits, I ask myself a recurring question:
“How far will the fake news media sink today?”
Every once in a while though, a member of the mainstream media will show just the tiniest bit of self-awareness that gives me hope.
Enter CNN political commentator Van Jones.
Van has a habit of saying some dumb things on the air, but he may have had a moment of clarity on Tuesday while discussing the Virginia governor race and Glenn Youngkin’s victory.
Jones thinks that democrats might be coming across as annoying and offensive.
“I think that the Democrats are coming across in ways that we don’t recognize that are annoying and offensive, and seem out of touch in ways that I don’t think show up in our feeds,” said Jones.
The best part is that Jones got zero pushback from his co-hosts.
The Blaze has more on this temporary moment of clarity from Van jones:
Jones surmised that Democrats have been living in a political bubble and not paying attention to voters' real day-to-day needs — and paid for it at the ballot box.
"I think that the Democrats are coming across in ways that we don't recognize that are annoying and offensive, and seem out of touch in ways that I don't think show up in our feeds, when we're looking at our kind of echo chamber," Jones said, mimicking someone scrolling through a smartphone. "And I think that this is a message here."
To see Van Jones show a bit of self-awareness was a promising sight to behold.
Unfortunately, he may not be as self-aware as he thinks, as made evident from the next video:
Van Jones Calls Glenn Youngkin the "Delta Variant of Trumpism"
I thought maybe he was having a breakthrough.
