Trump Was Right: Trump Predicted Leftists Would Remove Statues of Washington & Jefferson

Back in August of 2017, President Trump predicted that leftists would remove statues of American patriots such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Trump’s comments were mocked by the mainstream media and left-wing radicals who claimed that they were only targeting statues of Confederates such as Robert E. Lee.

Well, as is almost always the case, Trump was right.

Just last week, New York City officials voted to remove a statue of Thomas Jefferson from New York City Hall, citing his ownership of slaves.

This statue was wrongfully removed but was removed legally by elected officials. However, as we know, radicals do not always follow the rule of law. Back in June of 2020, violent rioters in Portland, Oregon tore down a statue of George Washington. The rioters then placed an American flag over the toppled statue and set it on fire, proving Trump’s 2017 claim that the left would attack statues of American patriots such as Washington and Jefferson in the near future.
