John Catanzara is a true American hero.
Vaccine mandates are horribly unpopular in just about every part of America, as was witnessed in the recent Southwest Airlines strike.
We have been seeing mass non-compliance, and protests from concerned organizations, and citizens alike.
The latest high-profile example of mass non-compliance comes to us from Chicago’s police union head John Catanzara.
He not only outright tells his fellow officers to resist the tyranny of these mandates, but also that Mayor Lori Lightfoot will be facing legal action if she attempts to enforce the mandates.
Let’s take a look at what John Catanzara had to say:

There’s a big standoff between the Chicago mayor and the police union over a vaccine mandate that was supposed to start today. To the extent it’s not already, this has the potential to get really really ugly if something like Southwest happens here. https://t.co/XcleLdP8sP

The Associated Press quotes Catanzara:
Catanzara suggested that if the city does enforce its requirement and many union members refuse to comply with it, “It’s safe to say that the city of Chicago will have a police force at 50% or less for this weekend coming up.
”He said that although he has made clear his vaccine status, “I do not believe the city has the authority to mandate that to anybody, let alone that information about your medical history.”

Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara told officers, “Do not fill out the portal information."
The city's vaccine mandate will place officers who do not submit proof of vaccination by the deadline on a "no pay" status.

Chicago Sun-Times reports that the standoff between Chicago police and Lightfoot has moved to the courts:
Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s high-stakes standoff with the police union over Chicago’s vaccine mandate took yet another turn on Friday — this time in court.
Late Thursday, Lightfoot directed her corporation counsel to file a complaint for injunctive relief against the Fraternal Order of Police and its fiery president John Catanzara.
The complaint accuses Catanzara of “engaging in, supporting and encouraging a work stoppage or strike,” according to a statement from the mayor.
