WATCH: Hundreds Arrested in Australia As Anti-Lockdown Protesters Break Police Lines

Several hundred anti-lockdown protesters were arrested in Australia today.

A video going viral appears to show a crowd of thousands breaking through police lines.

People in Australia are protesting draconian lockdowns.

These lockdowns have devastated the local economy.

Now, the people are taking to the streets to protest.

And today, things got very intense.

Watch below:

The left wing likes to claim that it’s only Trump supporters in America who are against vaccine *mandates* and forced lockdowns.

But it’s clear that this is happening all over the world.

People who want freedom and CHOICE are allowing their voices to be heard.

This isn’t a vast right wing conspiracy.

It’s people standing up for their personal freedoms.

It has been confirmed that at least 235 people have been arrested.

It appears that this figure is slowly increasing every hour.

Breitbart has more details on today’s freedom protests:

Officers used pepper spray and made over 200 arrests in Melbourne as several hundred protesters flouted stay-at-home orders and marched through an inner-city suburb.

The illegal gathering comes as the city goes through its sixth lockdown since the pandemic started, with the wider state of Victoria reporting over 500 cases of Covid-19 on Saturday.

Police said six officers were taken to hospital after they were pelted with projectiles and trampled in clashes with the crowd of around 700 people.

“What we saw today was a group of protesters that came together, not to protest freedoms, but simply to take on and have a fight with the police,” Victoria Police Commander Mark Galliott told media.

Police attempted to reduce access to the centre of the city, blocking roads and stopping public transport in a bid to avoid a repeat of violent scenes at a rally that drew thousands last month.

But marchers then relocated, with footage from one incident showing a crowd charging through a police line as scuffles erupted along a tram route.

Huge numbers of police managed to deter a similar gathering in Sydney, with officers swarming a park where the protest had been due to go ahead.

New South Wales Police said they arrested around 20 people in the city, mainly across the public transport network, while several others were arrested in smaller gatherings around the state.

Both cities are enduring lengthy lockdowns as authorities race to vaccinate a way out of restrictions amid growing outbreaks.

This isn’t the first major protest in Australia.

People have been taking to the streets for the last several weeks.

However, this was the first time there appeared to be widespread unrest.

At least 2,000 police offers were dispatched in an attempt to control the crowds.

Initial reports suggest that the crowd only got unruly because the police blocked them in a dead-end street.

From CNN:

At least 235 people were arrested and 10 police officers injured following a large anti-lockdown protest on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.

There were 2,000 police officers in the Melbourne central business district to prevent large protest groups from coming together, Victoria Police Commander Mark Galliott said.

“What we saw today was a group of protesters that came together, not to protest freedoms, but simply to take on and have a fight with the police,” Galliott told reporters. “That’s what we saw were angry, aggressive young males, they had to fight the police not to protest about freedom.”

Galliott pointed out that the only way to gain freedom as a society is to work together and achieve vaccinations. “Once we do that we would be out and about enjoying summer, enjoying Christmas, enjoying times with families. Doing these does nothing to advance any course. It’s never been successful here or overseas, protesting gets you nowhere.”

He also said if the officials had not taken preventative measures to shut down the public transport system and enforcing the vehicle checkpoints, there could have been thousands of protesters in the city. According to police, about 500 to 700 protesters were in Melbourne’s central business district on Saturday.

The state of Victoria extended its lockdown earlier this month for another three weeks after tough restrictions failed to lower the number of daily new coronavirus cases.

It’s funny how the left-wing claims that “protesting gets you nowhere.”

Yet…

They’re the ones promoting BLM and the Women’s March.

Hypocrites!
