DECLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS: Bin Laden Wanted To Kill Obama Because He Thought Biden Was Too Incompetent To Be President

According to declassified documents featured in the book “The Rise and Fall of Osama bin Laden,” by Peter Bergen, Bin Laden wanted to assassinate Obama because the mantle would have fallen to Joe Biden.

Before his death, Osama bin Laden wanted to kill President Obama in part because he thought Vice President Joe Biden was “unprepared” to serve as president, according to newly declassified documents first reviewed by the Washington Post.

The al Qaeda leader explained the rationale for targeting aircraft carrying Mr. Obama and General David Petraeus in documents taken from bin Laden’s Pakistani compound the night he was killed by U.S. forces in May, 2011. The Washington Post on Friday reported on details from the documents, which will soon be made public.

The documents seized from Bin Laden's compound when he was killed in Pak in 2011, outlined a plan to take out Obama. Laden's logic was so that 'totally unprepared' Biden would become President.

The New York Post had more:

“He told his lieutenants that he wanted ‘effective operations whose impact, God willing, is bigger than that of 9/11,’” wrote Bergen, based largely on a treasure-trove of documents found in the terrorist’s hideout.

“He explained that killing President Barack Obama was a high priority, but he also had General David Petraeus, at that time the US commander in Afghanistan, in his sights,” Bergen wrote.

“Bin Laden told his team not to bother with plots against Vice President Joe Biden, whom he considered ‘totally unprepared’ for the post of president,” the book claimed.
