Joe Biden and his administration have lied to the American people from the beginning.
They have denied the horrible crisis at our southern border, and hoped that we would let them get away with it.
Unfortunately for Biden, he and his goons can no longer hide the truth.
Even they are admitting that it has gotten far beyond their control.
Leaked audio was released from DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Mayorkas privately told Border Patrol agents that the situation at the southern border was “unsustainable.”
He went on to say that if the influx continues, “we’re going to lose,” and that the border is our first line of defense.
Here's more on the leaked audio from our friends at the Blaze:
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas privately told Border Patrol agents recently that the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is "unsustainable" and that "we're going to lose" if the influx continues and the "borders are the first line of defense."
The secretary's desperate message to immigration enforcement officials was reportedly recorded in secret by a Border Patrol agent and obtained by Fox News this week.
"A couple of days ago I was down in Mexico, and I said look, you know, if, if our borders are the first line of defense, we're going to lose and this is unsustainable," Mayorkas said. "We can't continue like this, our people in the field can't continue and our system isn't built for it."
Mayorkas reportedly told the agents that the current situation at the border "cannot continue" and added that the federal government's system was not designed to handle such an influx of migrants.
Agents encountered migrants at the border a whopping 210,000 times in the month of July, the highest monthly number reported in over two decades. The number of unaccompanied migrant children stopped by agents hit an all-time high.
The secretary reportedly expressed empathy for the agents and said he was "very well" aware that the sector recently came close to "breaking."
Here's more on the leak from Fox News:
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas met privately with Border Patrol agents in Texas and said in leaked audio that the border crisis is "unsustainable" and "we're going to lose" if "borders are the first line of defense."
"A couple of days ago I was down in Mexico, and I said look, you know, if, if our borders are the first line of defense, we're going to lose and this is unsustainable," Mayorkas said Thursday, according to the audio obtained by Fox News' Bill Melugin through a Border Patrol source. "We can't continue like this, our people in the field cant continue and our system isn't built for it."
Mayorkas told the agents that the current border situation "cannot continue." He said the federal government's system was not designed to handle such an influx of migrants as the U.S. has seen in recent months and he was "very well" aware that the sector recently came close to "breaking."
"It’s our responsibility to make sure that that never happens again," he said.
Mayorkas visited the Texas border and announced that agents handled more than 212,000 migrant encounters in July, marking a 13% increase from the previous month. He admitted the issue was "one of the toughest challenges we face."
"The extent of the challenge should not be understated, but nor should our ability to meet it," he said.
The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to Fox News's request for comment if the border is not currently "breaking" in light of the July increase in migrant encounters.
This accidental admission should come as a surprise to nobody.
However, the ramifications of this administration's failures in just seven short months will be felt for a very long time.
If our border falls, so does our country...
