MAGA 20+ Point Blowout: Trump-Backed Candidate Beats 10 Others in Ohio Special Election

We have HUGE news coming out of Ohio.

Mike Carey, who President Trump endorsed out of nowhere, has won Ohio’s special election in a LANDSLIDE!

Carey has won the primary for the 15th Congressional District with a mammoth 37.4 percent.

While 37.4 percent might not sound like a lot, keep in mind that there were 10 other candidates.

That’s right: out of 11 candidates, Carey has demolished his competition with 37.4 percent of the vote.

How pitiful was the rest of the showing?

Well…

The next closest candidate was at 13.5 percent.

That’s OVER a 20 percent point lead!

Why does this matter?

Carey was virtually unknown, even in Ohio.

In fact, he was dead last until President Trump appeared to endorse him out of nowhere.

This shows that President Trump STILL holds incredible power and influence within the GOP.

Just how important is this race?

Well…

Let’s just say that the New York Times dedicated three (THREE!!!) articles in the last 24 hours discussing “Trump’s sway.”

Per the New York Times:

In the other race, near Columbus, a dense field of Republicans is vying to upset the preferred candidate of former President Donald J. Trump, an energy lobbyist named Mike Carey who was largely unknown until Mr. Trump endorsed him in early June and all but ensured that he would be the front-runner.

But the crowded competition — more than 10 candidates are running for the Republican nomination in the solidly right-leaning district — means that the race is fluid, especially considering that special elections typically draw low turnout.

If Mr. Trump’s candidate does not prevail, a loss would be seen as another sign that his blessing is not the political golden ticket that he and his allies insist it is.

“The question is, ‘What does a Trump endorsement mean?’” said Aaron Baer, the president of the Center for Christian Virtue, a Columbus-based conservative advocacy group. “Typically, people would say it means a lot,” he added, with the caveats that the candidates are largely undistinguishable on the issues and that some of Mr. Carey’s rivals have also won endorsements from Trump allies.

“When you have a number of people in the race with solid conservative credentials, and Trump world is spreading out its endorsements, it’s really anyone’s game,” Mr. Baer said.

But that’s not all.

In a separate article, the NYT noted:

One race, in a deep-blue district in the Cleveland area, is pitting a progressive Democrat against an establishment-backed candidate. The other, in a solidly red district near Columbus, includes a broad field of Republican contenders, including one endorsed by former President Donald J. Trump.

In the Republican race near Columbus, a crowded field of Republicans is vying to upset Mike Carey, an energy lobbyist who was endorsed by Mr. Trump. He was largely unknown until the former president threw his support behind Mr. Carey in early June and all but ensured that he would be the front-runner.

But the race is fluid, with more than 10 candidates running for the Republican nomination. Some of Mr. Carey’s rivals also have more established reputations in the district, the 15th Congressional, as well as the backing of prominent allies of Mr. Trump.

These rivals include Bob Peterson, a state senator who also operates a 2,700-acre grain farm and has the support of Ohio Right to Life, the state’s leading anti-abortion group. There is also Ruth Edmonds, who has a following among Christian conservatives and the endorsements of Ken Blackwell, a prominent conservative activist and Trump ally, and Debbie Meadows, an activist and the wife of Mark Meadows, Mr. Trump’s last White House chief of staff.

Here’s the funny thing:

Despite no longer being in the White House, President Trump still lives rent free in the minds of the media!

In fact, we’re pretty sure the media still talks about President Trump more than they talk about Biden!

Tonight proves one thing: The Republican party is STILL the party of Trump!

This election also proves how strong Trump must’ve been in November 2020.

Keep in mind:

This election in Ohio is a special election.

This means that it will likely get lower turnout compared to a normal presidential election.

Furthermore, there were 11 candidates in this race.

Given that Trump has been out of the White House for 7 months, it is INCREDIBLE that his one endorsement holds this much power.

The Hill confirms:

Mike Carey, an energy lobbyist supported by former President Trump, won the crowded GOP primary race in a special House election in a deep-red Ohio district Tuesday.

The Associated Press called the race shortly after 9 p.m. ET. Carey led the pack with over 37 percent of the vote, or just shy of 9,300 ballots cast in his name.

State Sen. Bob Peterson, former state Rep. Ron Hood and state Rep. Jeff LaRe rounded out the top four.

Carey was a virtual unknown before winning Trump’s support and campaigned largely on the former president’s backing. He bested a crowd of roughly a dozen other primary contenders to run for the seat that was vacated by former Rep. Steve Stivers (R), who retired to run the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.

The win is also a vindication for Trump, who first threw his support behind Carey for Ohio’s 15th Congressional District in June.

The former president suffered a setback last week when Susan Wright, his endorsed candidate in a special House runoff in Texas, lost to another Republican, raising questions over the lingering power of Trump’s endorsement now that he doesn’t hold office.

“Great Republican win for Mike Carey. Big numbers! Thank you to Ohio and all of our wonderful American patriots. Congratulations to Mike and his family. He will never let you down!” Trump said in a statement.

In recognition of the influence Trump’s endorsement had in the race, Carey quickly touted Trump’s role as the de facto leader of the GOP in a victory statement.

“Tonight, Republicans across Ohio’s 15th Congressional District sent a clear message to the nation that President Donald J. Trump is, without a doubt, the leader of our party. I could not be more grateful for his support, and I am proud to deliver this win to advance his America First agenda,” he said in a statement.

The breadth of the GOP primary field in the district splintered the Republican Party, with several contenders drawing high-profile backers.

While Carey was considered something of a frontrunner with Trump’s backing, Hood, another conservative, won the support of Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) political action committee, and Stivers had backed LaRe. Peterson had looked to bolster his bona fides by racking up more local endorsements from big names in the Columbus area.

In a sign of how much of a priority Carey’s victory was for Trump, the former president’s political groups launched a $350,000 buy late last week on targeted text messages, digital and TV ads backing the lobbyist, indicating Trump was eager to avoid back-to-back losses.

Carey will be the overwhelming favorite to win the general election in November to replace Stivers, who won the seat last year by about 26 points. He will face state Rep. Allison Russo (D) in the general election.

Dear Democrats,

Are you paying attention?

Every time that you try to destroy President Donald Trump, he only gets stronger!!!!
