There are few things more cringeworthy than watching Hollywood actors and professional athletes scold the rest of America on politics and free thought.
There is one segment of society that has athletes and celebrities beat. These reprobates are known and sports commentators and “personalities”.
At least LeBron James and Tom Hanks have accomplished something. Sportscasters merely comment on other’s accomplishments.
Over the past few years, these “personalities” padded their embarrassing ratings by railing against Trump repeatedly. They would blame the President for all society’s problems.
In case you missed it, Stephen A. Smith, the resident loudmouth on ESPN was called out for racist remarks he made towards the Asian community.
That’s right, the same man that takes every opportunity to call President Trump, Ted Cruz, and other Republicans racist was caught on public television, being racist.
USA Today broke down the story.
On ESPN’s “First Take” program Monday morning, Smith said that baseball’s home run leader not speaking English presents a problem for MLB from a marketing standpoint.
“I don’t think it helps that the No. 1 face is a dude that needs an interpreter so you can understand what the hell he’s saying,” he said.
What might be missed in the transcript is the absolutely dismissive and mocking tone he uses to talk about someone of Asian descent. It’s clear by his tone that he views an Asian man as some form less than a black or a white man.
You can check it out on Youtube here:
As you can expect, Stephen A. Released a whole apology on his Twitter and on his show First Take. Stephen, his co-anchors and ESPN have asked that America give Stephen the benefit of the doubt.
Check out his cookie-cutter apology that his PR agency made him release.
ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has issued an apology and admitted he “screwed up” with his comments earlier in the day about Japanese baseball star Shohei Ohtani and his impact on the popularity of Major League Baseball.
“As an African-American, keenly aware of the damage stereotyping has done to many in this country, it should have elevated my sensitivities even more,” Smith wrote in a statement posted to social media.
“Based on my words, I failed in that regard and it’s on me and me alone! Ohtani is one of the brightest stars in all of sports. He is making a difference, as it pertains to inclusiveness and leadership. I should have embraced that in my comments. Instead, I screwed up.”
As an Asian man, I have heard much worse. In reality, if I heard someone say this in a restaurant, I would probably just ignore it and move on.
However, because it’s Stephen A Smith, his statements can’t be swept under the rug. The reason why he cannot be excused is that he has demanded people like President Trump not be excused for “misspeaking”
Over the last four years, this man has gone just short of calling for President Trump’s execution. Yet he refuses to be judged by the same measure he has so loudly held the President to.
Talk about hypocrisy to the highest degree.
All of this is sad but it’s not surprising.
What IS surprising is that Stephen A. Smith actually blamed President Trump for his own racism.
This man is the definition of a MORON.
In the middle of his apology on television, Stephen A. Smith inferred that his statements were only racist because of the hateful atmosphere created by President Trump.

In watching his apology, you can tell this man is a master at taking zero responsibility for his actions while pretending he is.
In addition to this, Max Kellerman, Stephen A’s co-host chimed in at the end of his apology.
Stephen A Smith is not only, NOT racist. I can tell you he is not racist. He is anti racist. Stridently anti-racist.”
Well, if Max Kellerman said he’s not racist, it MUST be true. Interesting how when conservatives say Trump isn’t racist, they are also racist. But when a man with a bad haircut and an Ivy League degree says so, it’s the law.
This sounds like a broken record at this point but I’m tired of watching woke media personalities get a free pass. They need to live by the same standard they claim President Trump needs to.
The good news is that television audiences are seeing more examples of this double standard play out in front of them. Judging by their falling ratings, it seems that viewers are starting to get sick of the hypocrisy.
