So, this is a thing that occured…
Kamala Harris handed out cookies to the press on Air Force 2 during her trip to Guatemala to meet with their president, Alejandro Giammattei.
Sounds like a nice gesture, right?
here’s the kicker though…
The cookies were decorated to look like Harris’ own face.
That’s right, Kamala Harris handed out ‘Kamala cookies.’
Glad to see that despite her many failures in addressing the horrible crisis at our southern border, Harris’ ego is still the size of Air Force 2.
Harris is now facing a wave of mockery from Twitter.
Fox News has more on the Kamala Harris cookie giveaway:
Let them eat cookies.
Users on Twitter roasted Vice President Harris for passing out cookies made in her likeness to reporters on a plane while traveling to meet with the president of Guatemala.
The vice president traveled to the Central American country on Sunday to meet with the Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei in her first trip after being appointed by President Biden to lead diplomatic efforts in the region amid the border crisis.
In the tail section of Air Force 2, though, Harris handed out cookies in her likeness, made in the style of her official White House portrait.
USA Today politics reporter Courtney Subramanian shared a picture of the cookies online, which sparked backlash from users on Twitter.
GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel took a chop at Harris, saying the cookies were the "modern-day equivalent" of French Queen Marie Antoinette’s famous quote.
"Handing out cookies with her face on them as the border crisis rages…," McDaniel wrote. "The modern-day equivalent of ‘let them eat cake.’"
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., lambasted Harris for passing out the cookies, saying that while she was doing that the cartel was making millions.
"[Harris] is passing out cookies to the press with her face on them while the cartel makes hundreds of millions of dollars smuggling drugs and children across the southern border," Reschenthaler wrote. "This is all possible thanks to the Biden/Harris Administration’s policies."
After stroking her own ego, Harris was heckled by local Guatemalans during her visit.
More on that from the Daily Caller:
Harris reportedly handed out cookies depicting her official White House portrait and Air Force Two to members of the press before protesters with various signs telling her to go home greeted her at an air force base in Guatemala on Sunday, the Floridian Press reported.
One sign said “Kamala mind your own business” and another read “Kamala go home,” according to the Floridian Press. Others said, “Kamala, Trump won” and “no constitutional reforms, Guatemala is pro-life.”
The protesters were within sight of Harris’ motorcade as she arrived to discuss strategy with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei, the New York Post reported. Another sign placed on a roadside billboard said “Kamala Stop Funding Criminals #FueraDeGuatemala.”
Giammattei said the U.S. is facing a migration crisis at the southern border because of the Biden administration, during an interview with CBS News Sunday. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials encountered over 178,000 migrants at the southern border in April including more than 17,000 unaccompanied minors, according to the agency.
“We asked the United States government to send more of a clear message to prevent more people from leaving,” Giammattei told CBS News. Coyotes began organizing groups of children bound for the U.S. the day after the Biden administration said they would reunite separated migrant families, Giammattei said.
Other Twitter users "fixed" the faceless Kamala cookies.
