Kamala Harris is suddenly feeling the pressure after being appointed as the “border czar.”
Harris has been a complete failure, continually refusing to even acknowledge the border crisis, let alone visit the border.
Americans everywhere are frustrated with the Biden-Harris Administration.
Perhaps due to the intense pressure, Harris recently delivered a clear message to migrants trying to illegally enter the United States:
“Don’t come.”
Now, the radicals in the democratic party are turning on Harris as well, but for very different reasons.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Harris’ recent comments to migrants wanting to enter the US border “disappointing.”
AOC would rather everyone is allowed to enter the United States.
In fact, she blames the US for destabilizing Latin America in the first place.
In her words:
“The US spent decades contributing to regime change and destabilization in Latin America. We can’t help set someone’s house on fire and then blame them for fleeing.”
Newsmax has more on AOC's 'disappointment' with Harris:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her remarks on Monday that Guatemalans considering crossing the border should not come "disappointing," the Business Insider reported.
Harris, making her first visit abroad as vice president, said in Guatemala City that "I want to emphasize that the goal of our work is to help Guatemalans find hope at home. At the same time, I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border: Do not come. Do not come."
The vice president further emphasized that the U.S., "as one of our priorities, will discourage illegal migration. And I believe if you come to our border, you will be turned back."
Ocasio-Cortez said the comments by Harris were "disappointing to see."
The New York Democrat stressed on Twitter that "seeking asylum at any US border is a 100% legal method of arrival," adding that "the US spent decades contributing to regime change and destabilization in Latin America. We can't help set someone's house on fire and then blame them for fleeing."
She added in another tweet that "It would be helpful if the US would finally acknowledge its contributions to destabilization and regime change in the region. Doing so can help us change US foreign policy, trade policy, climate policy, & carceral border policy to address causes of mass displacement & migration."
Our friends at the New York Post have more information:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is blasting Vice President Kamala Harris for telling illegal immigrants to not come to the United States amid a record surge in illegal border crossings — calling the veep’s comments “disappointing.”
Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) offered the rebuke in a series of tweets Monday evening, retweeting a video of the vice president discouraging illegal migration during her trip to Guatemala.
“I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making that dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border: Do not come, do not come,” Harris said while speaking to reporters at a press conference alongside Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei.
“The United States will continue to enforce our laws, and secure our border. There are legal methods by which migration can and should occur, but we, as one of our priorities, will discourage illegal migration,” said Harris, who on Tuesday is in Mexico meeting with President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. “And I believe if you come to our border, you will be turned back.”
For AOC, Harris’ comments were “disappointing to see.”
“First, seeking asylum at any US border is a 100% legal method of arrival,” the progressive pol wrote.
“Second, the US spent decades contributing to regime change and destabilization in Latin America. We can’t help set someone’s house on fire and then blame them for fleeing.”
The New York Democrat went on to call on the US to “finally acknowledge its contributions to destabilization and regime change in the region.”
“Doing so can help us change US foreign policy, trade policy, climate policy, & carceral border policy to address causes of mass displacement & migration,” she added.
For her part, Harris did respond to AOC.
She keeps saying the same thing over and over again, that she's after the "root causes" of mass immigration.
...Whatever that means...
AOC is right to be critical of Kamala Harris.
She's just wrong about why.
Harris still has not once visited the southern border.
When asked about this in an interview, Harris simply responded:
"...And I haven't been to Europe... I don't understand the point you're making."
