South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem Sues Biden Admin After They “Cancel” 4th of July

The Biden administration is becoming more Anti-American by the day. 

Now Biden’s cancel culture wants to cancel the Fourth of July!

I didn’t think it was possible, but it is true. 

South Dakota’s Governor Kristi Noem said today that she is suing the Biden administration for denying permits for an Independence Day celebration at Mount Rushmore. 

Governor Noem is asking the Biden Administration to uphold a 2019 agreement between the state and the National Parks Service that gave permission for the return of fireworks in 2020. 

Before 2020, it had been more than 10 years since fireworks were allowed at Mount Rushmore. 

Our America-First President Trump brought them back, honoring Americans’ desires to celebrate in typical American fashion with a big fireworks show among a backdrop of our past presidents.

Governor Noem said this today on Twitter:

Mount Rushmore is the very best place to celebrate America’s birthday and all that makes our country special. Unfortunately, the Biden Administration cancelled our Mount Rushmore Fireworks Celebration.

Unfortunately, the new administration departed from precedent and reneged on this agreement without any meaningful explanation. We're asking the court to enjoin Interior's denial of the fireworks permit and order it to issue a permit for the event expeditiously. (3/3)

Donald Trump’s epic Fourth of July Celebration at Mount Rushmore was as American as you can get. 

While Biden wants to cancel the Fourth of July and any of Trump’s legacies. 

Will the Biden Administration concede and let Americans celebrate their independence freely? Or will the woke cancel culture win?

Yahoo naturally took a liberal spin on the story:

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) said Friday she’s suing the Biden administration for denying the state permits to hold an Independence Day fireworks display at Mount Rushmore.

Context: The National Parks Service denied the permits over tribal opposition to the celebration and potential risks regarding the health and safety of both the park and guests, citing the coronavirus pandemic and fire hazards.

What they’re saying: The governor, who is viewed as a potential 2024 GOP presidential candidate, is demanding a federal court “expeditiously” issue a permit for the event to take place, according to Fox News.

• “Mount Rushmore is the very best place to celebrate America’s birthday and all that makes our country special,” Noem said.
• “After telling us they’d ‘circle back,’ the Biden administration has not responded to our request to uphold the Memorandum Agreement between the State of South Dakota and the National Parks Service to host a safe and responsible national celebration and fireworks show.”
• Noem claims the Biden administration has “departed from longstanding precedent and reneged on this agreement without any meaningful explanation.”

The big picture: The Independence Day fireworks display held at the national memorial last year, which former President Trump attended, was the first to occur in a decade, according to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.

• The celebration generated protests from Native American activists, who believe it was a desecration of land stolen from Native American tribes.

Last I remember, our national parks are for everyone to use, not for a specific group to decide who gets to be let in. 

Are identity politics at play?

It sure seems so by hurting those who love America and everything that comes with the 4th: freedom, fun, and fireworks.

That would be too America-First for Biden!

Gov. Noem also came on Fox News today to share her thoughts. When asked if this move politically fires up Trump’s base, here is how Gov. Noem responds:

It does, I think it should fire up every single American that loves this country. This whole conversation has changed. It’s gone away from equality. And It’s a radical movement that’s rewriting our history that will take away all the lessons that we want to teach our kids and our grandkids.”

She believes this news should fire up every American that loves this country, and called this radical movement out for trying to rewrite history. Amen!

With the Biden Administration rushing to cancel anything that reminds them of Donald Trump and his America-First agenda, it sure looks like larger identity politics are at play with the aim to cancel America.
