NBA poster boy lebron James is in hot water yet again, and this time he may have gone too far.
In a Twitter post, James posted a picture of the police officer involved in the shooting of a 16-year-old black girl in Columbus OH, who was charging another girl with a knife.
James captioned the tweet with the words “You’re next,” and a picture of an hourglass.
He also added the hashtag #ACCOUNTABILITY.
James later deleted the tweet, but several screenshots of the original are being shared online.
This is scary stuff.
We already found out this week that elected officials can intimidate a jury and get away with it, as Maxine Waters did during the trial of Derek Chauvin.
Now we know that spoiled millionaire NBA players like James can threaten police officers on Twitter.
Our friends at the Daily Wire have the story:
NBA star LeBron James posted a photograph on social media on Wednesday of the police officer who allegedly shot and killed a 16-year-old girl in Columbus, Ohio, writing, “YOU’RE NEXT. #ACCOUNTABILITY.”
Michael Woods, the interim police chief of Columbus, said at a press conference that video of the incident showed “the female with the knife,” who the police officer shot and killed, was “attempting to stab” another female in the video.
James, a left-wing Democrat activist, tweeted out a photograph of the police officer, writing, “YOU’RE NEXT. #ACCOUNTABILITY.” James included an emoji of an hour glass, which is used to signify that time is running out.
The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) responded to James’ tweet by writing: “. @KingJames , with his vast resources & influence, should educate himself and, frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the facts before weighing in. This is disgraceful & extremely reckless. The officer saved a young girl’s life. No amount of gaslighting will change that fact.”
Fox News has more on James' deleted tweet:
As the jury was deliberating Tuesday the fate of ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, another police-involved shooting was taking place in Columbus, Ohio.
Body camera footage showed the shooting victim, 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant, charging at another female armed with what appears to be a knife. An officer shot Bryant four times before she collapsed to the ground. She died at the hospital after being taken there in critical condition.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James reacted to the news on Twitter, in a now-deleted tweet, by sharing an image of the officer involved in the fatal shooting of Bryant, and wrote "YOU’RE NEXT" while hashtagging "ACCOUNTABILITY".
Police were called to the scene around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday on a report of an attempted stabbing.
The bodycam video shows that as soon as police pulled up, a young female tackles another female to the ground, holding what appeared to be a knife in her hand. The girl is then seen charging at another female while raising the apparent knife in the air, at which point the officer fired multiple shots.
James is being hammered online for his dangerous choice of words.
This is disgraceful behavior from someone who is supposed to be a role model for kids.
