Very few thoughts that come from the brains of Hollywood leftists should ever be taken seriously.
This is doubly true when talking about liberal filmmaker Michael Moore, who tweeted some controversial statements following the mass shooting by a Syrian immigrant in Boulder, Colorado.
Rather than keeping focus on the mass murderer, Moore is instead focusing his blame on American culture itself.
Moore tweeted:
“Now that we know who the Boulder killer is, we will soon see the pundits & bigots harp on “Middle Eastern” & “Islamic.” But make no mistake: a young man with anger issues & easy access to semi-automatic weapons who shoots up a nice town in Colorado is as American as apple pie.”
Moore is now taking some serious criticism from members of the right.
Here is Michael Moore's Controversial Tweet
Moore had already made clear that he believed this terrorist act was the cause of American culture.
Before this tweet, he shared an image of the Statue of Liberty with these words attached:
“The life of (the shooter) shows that people can come from all over the world and truly assimilate into our beloved American culture.”
The Daily Wire has more from the troubled liberal filmmaker, and his deranged assessment that this terrorist was inspired by American culture:
On Tuesday night, leftist filmmaker Michael Moore triggered harsh criticism in response to his tweet regarding the Boulder, Colorado shooting in which a Syrian immigrant who reportedly suffered from mental illness murdered 10 people. Moore tweeted under a photo of the Statue of Liberty ,“The life of (the shooter) shows that people can come from all over the world and truly assimilate into our beloved American culture.”
Moore’s attack on America elicited angry responses from the conservative side of the aisle (including here, here, here, here, here, here and here).
The Daily Wire reported on Tuesday:
The suspected shooter, a 21-year-old who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, killed 10 people at a King Soopers grocery store on Monday, including one police officer. While his Arabic name may prompt new assumptions about his motive, members of his family have told the Daily Beast that the suspect suffered from mental illness, was “very anti-social” and paranoid. The suspect’s brother said that in high school, the suspect claimed he was “being chased, someone is behind him, someone is looking for him.”… The suspect was born in Syria but reportedly spent “most of his life in the United States,” Boulder police officials said during a Tuesday press conference.
Here's more from the New York Post:
Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore caused backlash Tuesday over a tweet about the gunman involved in Monday’s grocery store massacre in Boulder, Colorado.
Police identified the suspect on Tuesday as Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, a 21-year-old resident of Arvada, Colo., who immigrated to the US from Syria as a child. He has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder. A motive for the attack has not yet been made public.
Moore, an outspoken gun control advocate, appeared to swipe “American culture” with his tweet about how Alissa showed anyone can “assimilate” into the US.
“The life of Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa shows that people can come from all over the world and truly assimilate into our beloved American culture,” Moore tweeted with a photograph of the Statue of Liberty.
