This is a sad day for America.
Sources say The Senate has just given the green-light for what many argue is an unconstitutional impeachment proceeding.
Ladies and gentlemen this is FAR more than simply a sham trial. This in my opinion is something meant to be a direct attack on Trump supporters everywhere.
Here are the latest developments:
NTD News reported:
The U.S. Senate voted on Feb. 9 to authorize the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, overruling an argument by the defense alleging the Senate does not have jurisdiction to try Trump because he is now a private citizen.
Over the course of four hours, the House impeachment managers and Trump’s attorneys presented their arguments for and against the constitutionality of the trial. In the end, 44 Republican Senators voted in favor of dropping the trial because it is illegitimate, seven votes short of the majority needed to stop the proceedings at the gate.
The lead impeachment manager, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), argued that nixing the trial because Trump had left office would create a “January exception” during which future presidents could abuse their power without fear of being convicted and barred from holding future office.
Breitbart had this to say:
Democrats’ impeachment push against former President Donald Trump is a manifestation of the ruling elite’s contempt for those it views as its subjects, said Lee Smith, journalist and author of The Permanent Coup: How Enemies Foreign and Domestic Targeted the American President, on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak.
“It is not about Trump,” Smith stated of the impeachment pursuit against the 45th president. “It’s about punishing the American voters. ‘We’ll tell you who to vote for.’ This is what happened in 2016, right? This is what Russiagate was about. ‘How dare you not vote for Hillary Clinton? … Because you didn’t, we’re going to make you feel pain. We’re going to use the president you elected as a mechanism.'”
