Western Virginia Lawmaker Has Been Arrested For Illegally Entering The Capitol Building

Friends, have you noticed that the FBI has gone overboard trying to identify anyone that entered the Capitol Building?

I remember when BLM and Antifa rioters destroyed Democrat-controlled cities the only person that reported and investigated the violence was Andy Ngo.

Well, it looks like the FBI just made another arrest regarding the Capitol siege, and this time it’s a Republican Lawmaker from West Virginia.

Derek Evans a West Virginia lawmakers who just got sworn in was arrested by the FBI at his home on Friday and charged with entering restricted federal property.

Since the arrest, the Representative has resigned from his position as a House Delegate of West Virginia.

The AP News covered Derek Evans arrest and resignation and had this to say:

A West Virginia state lawmaker resigned Saturday as he faces charges of entering a restricted area of the U.S. Capitol after he livestreamed himself with rioters.

In a letter, Republican Del. Derrick Evans notified Gov. Jim Justice he was stepping down, effective immediately.

Evans, 35, appeared before a federal judge in Huntington, West Virginia, on Friday after being arrested. If convicted, he faces up to a year and a half in federal prison for two misdemeanor charges: entering a restricted area and disorderly conduct.

Evans issued a statement Saturday that he takes full responsibility for his actions, adding he deemed it best for him to resign to “focus on my personal situation and those I love.”

Evans has reportedly said he was just at the Capitol to document the event through recording it on Facebook Live and arresting him for doing so is unconstitutional.

CBS  had more details on Evans’ Facebook live video :

“We’re in! Keep it moving, baby!” he said in a packed doorway amid Trump followers holding flags and complaining of being pepper sprayed. Once inside, Evans could be seen on video milling around the Capitol Rotunda, where historical paintings depict the republic’s founding, and yelled “no vandalizing.”

Imagine hearing “no vandalizing” at a BLM or Antifa event.

It’s clear Derek Evans didn’t have a malicious motive to enter the Capitol but rather just filmed and followed the crowd in front of him.
