Big Tech has fired more shots in the war of censorship.
First Twitter bans President Trump from Twitter and now Google removes Parler from their app store.
A Google spokesperson declared that Parler has become a “public safety threat” and the app has now been officially removed from the Google play store.
This is why President Trump warned lawmakers to take a stand against Big Tech companies like Google but they were too slow to act.

Parler removed from Google Play store as Apple App Store suspension reportedly looms https://t.co/raeIiNcouD by @lucasmtny

USA Today reported the story and released these details:
Google removed the social media app Parler Friday evening because it posed a “public safety threat.”
The social network, launched in 2018, became popular among conservatives and an unmoderated home to more extreme views in 2020 when both Facebook and Twitter tightened up their content moderation and labeling.
“In order to protect user safety on Google Play, our longstanding policies require that apps displaying user-generated content have moderation policies and enforcement that removes egregious content like posts that incite violence,” said a Google spokesperson in a statement to USA TODAY.
New: Google has suspended Parler from the Play Store until it better polices its app.
Earlier today, Apple gave Parler an ultimatum to improve its moderation in 24 hours or face removal from App Store.

This move by Google is a direct attack against Conservative voices.
CNN covered the story also:
Parler, the alternative social media platform popular with conservatives, has been banned from the Google Play Store, Google told CNN Business Friday evening.
Google said its app store has long required that apps displaying user generated content have moderation policies in place to prevent the spread of violent rhetoric.
“We’re aware of continued posting in the Parler app that seeks to incite ongoing violence in the US,” a Google spokesperson said. “We recognize that there can be reasonable debate about content policies and that it can be difficult for apps to immediately remove all violative content, but for us to distribute an app through Google Play, we do require that apps implement robust moderation for egregious content. In light of this ongoing and urgent public safety threat, we are suspending the app’s listings from the Play Store until it addresses these issues.”
It looks like Big Tech companies are taking a page from Communist China and are attempting to censor the masses.
