The Boris that stole Christmas.
Earlier today, United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new wave of restrictions for London and much of southern England.
The purported reason for the latest round of lockdowns was due to scientists revealing they discovered a new COVID-19 strain that’s believed to be responsible for an uptick in cases throughout the region.
Here’s the announcement from Johnson:

Not everyone is planning to follow the impending Tier 4 Restrictions.
And some police officers have refused to enforce the draconian rules.

From Daily Mail:
Metropolitan Police Federation boss Ken Marsh has revealed police ‘won’t be knocking on people’s doors on Christmas Day’ as he described the Tier 4 restrictions as ‘baffling’ amid concerns over how they will be enforced.
Police forces around the south of England revealed they would be increasing patrols to punish anyone found breaking Number 10’s latest set of restrictions.
At an emergency press conference, Boris Johnson announced a third of England, including London and swathes of the home counties, will be shifted up to the brutal new tier from midnight.
Mr Marsh told MailOnline the new rules – which close non-essential retail and ban overnight stays in infection spots – meant little, because Mr Johnson has ‘lost the good will of the people’ over the festive period.
He said: ‘It doesn’t make sense. It’s going to be no different now from how it was.
‘We’re not going to be knocking on people doors on Christmas Day. We have no power of entry.
‘It’s just a shame because I don’t think people are going to take much notice. You’ve lost the goodwill of the public. They’re so frustrated.’
A Government source told The Telegraph: ‘The police are not going to enforce Cristmas Day very heavily.’ Another revealed it was ‘unlikely’ police would be pulling over cars to ask where people were going.
Meanwhile, the National Police Chiefs’ Council told MailOnline rulebreakers could face fixed penalty notices.
On the latest restrictions, National Police Chiefs’ Council Chair, Martin Hewitt, said: ‘These restrictions will be upsetting for many after a very challenging year, but most people will want to do what they can to protect public health and the health of their loved ones.
Breaking News shared additional info on the lockdown protests:
Five police officers have been injured and 29 people arrested following anti-lockdown protests in central London.
Hundreds of people joined marches down Oxford and Regent Street on Saturday, and were dispersed several times by police.
There were several clashes between officers and unmasked demonstrators, who chanted “we demand freedom”.
It came as UK prime minister Boris Johnson announced that several areas of eastern and south-east England would be placed under Tier 4 restrictions – the toughest in the UK.
At a press conference, Mr Johnson praised the “amazing work” of police and their “soft touch” approach to dealing with rule breakers.
The Metropolitan Police account later tweeted: “We arrested 29 people today following demonstrations across the city.
“Unacceptably five of our officers were injured – thankfully their injuries are not serious.”
Multiple people were arrested near Trafalgar Square, including Andreas Michli – a gym owner from Wood Green, who refused to close the venue during the second national lockdown.
Much like here in America, many citizens throughout the United Kingdom are fed up with the authoritarian lockdowns implemented by government officials.
And they’re demanding their freedom back.
Sounds like they’re unlocking that 1776 spirit across the pond.
