Gov. Andrew Cuomo and President Trump are once again at each other’s throat this time over Trump’s decision to potentially allow federal budget cuts to cities that allow lawless protests.
Cuomo put on his tough-guy persona and had this to say about the President:
“Forget bodyguards, he better have an army if he thinks he’s gonna walk down the street in New York. New Yorkers don’t want to have anything to do with him.”
Trump quickly responded in a tweet and stated a fact about how 11,000 people died in Nursing Homes under Cuomo’s watch.

Andrew Cuomo boasts New Yorkers would harm @realDonaldTrump — he would need "an army" and "bodyguards" to walk around in NYC. https://t.co/hWiEheIHGw

The words of a petty bully thug.@AndrewCuomo's outrageous incitement of violence against the President of the United States DEMANDS an immediate apology. Disgusting.https://t.co/KkDMcYZ4ex

.@NYGovCuomo should get his puppet New York prosecutors, who have been illegally after me and my family for years, to investigate his incompetent handling of the China Virus, and all of the deaths caused by this incompetence. It is at minimum a Nursing Home Scandal – 11,000 DEAD!

The feud between Cuomo and Trump was covered by the New York Post:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday all but threatened President Trump’s safety if he returns to New York City in a rant responding to an exclusive story by The Post that Trump is looking to pull federal funds from “lawless” cities including New York.
Cuomo called an emergency press briefing within a half-hour on Wednesday night to tear into Trump for the order, which cites New York’s rising murder rate and defunding of the NYPD.
“He better have an army if he thinks he’s gonna walk down the street in New York. New Yorkers don’t want to have anything to do with him,” the Democrat said, all but threatening the commander-in-chief.
But Cuomo — who, like Trump, hails from Queens — wasn’t done. “He can’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City, people don’t want to have anything to do with him.”
The escalation in rhetoric is astounding. Imagine if a Republican Governor said President Obama would need an army if he wanted to visit a State. https://t.co/ojCVfiQPgi

USA Today contributed to the story with these details:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo angrily responded late Wednesday to President Donald Trump’s threat to “defund” New York City and other Democratic cities that have seen violent protests, warning Trump he would “need an army” if he returned to the city of his birth.
Cuomo, a Democrat, hastily called a conference call with reporters Wednesday night after the White House issued a five-page memo threatening to cut federal funding to what it called “anarchist institutions.”
The memo defines the term as as any city that has “refused to undertake reasonable measures” to curb violence and property destruction.
Gov. Cuomo is so proud of his poorly run city.
He practically boasted that it wasn’t safe.
Cuomo maybe forgot that his own city’s police department gave their endorsement to Trump.
At the end of the day, Trump doesn’t need an army in New York and he can go there as he pleases regardless of what Cuomo has to say.
