If you were surprised by Joe Biden's speech at the DNC last week, you weren't alone.
Apparently President Trump was also surprised at Sleepy Joe's sudden burst of energy.
Of course, it's not difficult to read a teleprompter, but Biden appeared to be uncharacteristically animated and energetic.
Now, President Trump has pledged that his campaign will call for drug tests prior to the the debate with sleepy Joe.
Many are speculating that Biden's enhanced performance could be due to drugs that boost concentration, energy, and mental stimulus.
No evidence of drug use has been presented, which is why a call for drug tests will be challenged by the Trump campaign.
President Trump has nothing to hide and will gladly take the drug test.
Will Joe Biden?
More details on this challenge issued by President Trump below:
As of this writing, the Democratic party and Biden campaign have yet to respond to Trump's demand.
The Washington Examiner reports that President Trump was suspicious of Biden's debate performance improvements during the Democratic primaries:
President Trump says he will call for drug tests for both former Vice President Joe Biden and himself before the first candidates' debate on Sept. 29. In an Oval Office interview Wednesday, the president expressed suspicion at what he said was a sudden, marked improvement in Biden's debate performance during the Democratic primary season and suggested that he believes the improvement was the result of drugs. The president offered no evidence to support his speculation.
Biden took part in 11 debates during the primary season. Most were against a crowded field of candidates, but the final debate, on March 15, was just Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders. The president claimed to see a big difference between the last debate and those that came before.
"Nobody thought that he was even going to win," Trump said. "Because his debate performances were so bad. Frankly, his best performance was against Bernie. We're going to call for a drug test, by the way, because his best performance was against Bernie. It wasn't that he was Winston Churchill because he wasn't, but it was a normal, boring debate. You know, nothing amazing happened. And we are going to call for a drug test because there's no way — you can't do that."
Q: "What do you think was going on?"
"I don't know how he could have been so incompetent in his debate performances and then all of a sudden be OK against Bernie," Trump answered. "My point is, if you go back and watch some of those numerous debates, he was so bad. He wasn't even coherent. And against Bernie, he was. And we're calling for a drug test."
Q: "Is this like a prizefight, where beforehand you have a test?"
"Well, it is a prizefight," Trump answered. "It's no different from the gladiators, except we have to use our brain and our mouth. And our body to stand. I want all standing; they want to sit down."
Trump based his call entirely on his own observations and not on any actual knowledge of Biden's actions. "All I can tell you is that I'm pretty good at this stuff," he said. "I look. I watched him in the debates with all of the different people. He was close to incompetent, if not incompetent, and against Bernie, he was normal ... and I say, 'How does that happen?'"
There's no question that Biden's mental acuity isn't what it used to be.
There are countless viral videos that showcase his mental blunders and inability to form coherent sentences.
A drug test would reveal whether or not Biden is taking substances to enhance his mental performance.
If Joe Biden is "doped up," the American people deserve to know!
Now, we're not making any accusations.
We're simply reporting the news that the Trump campaign will issue this challenge.
If Joe Biden has nothing to hide, then he has nothing to fear from a drug test.
Do you think the Biden camp will agree?
The Independent reports that Trump issued this challenge prior to the start of night 3 of the RNC:
Donald Trump, offering no medical evidence, has suggested Joe Biden was drugged when he debated Bernie Sanders and said he wants the former vice president drug-tested before they go toe-to-toe.
The president made his latest bold declaration ahead of night No 3 of the Republican National Convention, and threatened to distract from the biggest speech of vice president Mike Pence’s political career as the GOP ticket trails Mr Biden and running mate Kamala Harris in national polls and ones taken in most key battleground states.
Mr Trump told the Washington Examiner during an Oval Office interview published on Wednesday that he thought Mr Biden was incoherent during debates with almost a dozen other Democratic candidates. But, suddenly, when the field was down to just himself and Mr Sanders, the president claims he saw a different former VP on the debate stage.
“Nobody thought that he was even going to win,” Mr Trump said. “Because his debate performances were so bad. Frankly, his best performance was against Bernie.”
Then he dropped a bombshell.
“We’re going to call for a drug test, by the way, because his best performance was against Bernie. It wasn’t that he was Winston Churchill because he wasn’t, but it was a normal, boring debate,” he added. “You know, nothing amazing happened. And we are going to call for a drug test because there’s no way – you can’t do that.”
Asked by an Examiner reporter, “What do you think was going on?”, the president offered nary a shred of evidence.
“I don’t know how he could have been so incompetent in his debate performances and then all of a sudden be OK against Bernie,” he replied. “My point is, if you go back and watch some of those numerous debates, he was so bad. He wasn’t even coherent. And against Bernie, he was. And we’re calling for a drug test.”
A Biden campaign spokesman had not yet responded to an inquiry seeking a reaction.
If Biden refuses a drug test, this will certainly raise eyebrows.
