Rioting and Looting Makes Chicago Look Like a Third-World Country

I never thought I'd see this in America.

Iraq?

Maybe.

But not America.

Certainly not in a once-great City like Chicago.

Chicago can't seem to get a break these days, but I guess that's what happens when your city has been ran by Democrats for decades.

Eventualyl it cracks.

Looters in the name of "social justice" rained down destruction on Chicago recently, some claiming the destruciton was "reparations".

HUH?

Nearly endless vandalism on luxury establishments leaves Chicago almost unrecognizable.

Yahoo News gave further details.

"Large crowds clashed with police as rioters vandalized stores in downtown Chicago overnight Sunday, with officers returning fire after being targeted by gunfire.

More than 100 people were arrested and 13 officers wounded as rioters smashed windows and looted high-end stores, authorities said.

"Shots fired at police who returned fire," tweeted Chicago police spokesman Tom Ahern early on Monday, who indicated that no officers had been injured in that exchange.

Local media said law enforcement was unsure what had sparked the unrest, which came after a reported police shooting in the city's Englewood neighborhood.

Debris littered a parking lot outside a damaged Best Buy where people loaded merchandise into cars, while an Apple Store had its window smashed."

Just look at this:

Footage of the chaos that occurred Monday evening in downtown Chicago.

Regarding one of those two that were shot during the exchange of gunfire with police, Chicago's WGN9 reported:

"Police said a 20-year-old man matching the description of a suspect ran from officers when they tried to interview him Sunday afternoon, and officers returned fire after he fired at them while fleeing. He’s expected to survive.

After the shooting, Brown says a crowd started to gather nearby and tempers started to flare. Later in the day, Brown said CPD became aware of social media posts indicating a child had been shot, and others encouraging looting downtown."

In an interesting turnabout, Chicago mayor Laura Lightfoot wants federal assistance....but with caveats:

During all the unrest of the past few months, Lightfoot has bristled at the idea of President Trump's help with the unrest in her city.

Now when things look out of control, the mayor seeks Washington's help. Madam Mayor...it's lack of private gun ownership that is contributing to your urban problem.
