The leaders of Iran won't be attending a Defund The Police rally anytime soon.
They need all the help they can get with their new arrest warrants related to the drone killing of Terrorist in Chief, Qasem Soleimani.
CNN reports on the country's lofty legal ambitions:
Iran has issued an arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump over the drone strike that killed a top Iranian general in January, the semi-official Fars news agency reported Monday.
Trump is one of 36 people Iran has issued arrest warrants for in relation to the death of Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), according to Fars, but the Tehran attorney general Ali Alqasi Mehr said Trump was at the top of the list.
Mehr claimed Trump would be prosecuted as soon as he stands down presidency after his term ends, Fars reported.
Iran also said it had asked Interpol to issue a Red Notice for these 36 individuals, semi-official state news agency ISNA reported, though it was unlikely that Interpol would grant the request. In a statement to CNN, Interpol said it "would not consider requests of this nature." It explained that it was not in accordance with its rules and constitution, which states "it is strictly forbidden for the organization to undertake any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character."
Time highlights the response from the US Special Representative to Iran:
Brian Hook, the U.S. special representative for Iran, dismissed the arrest warrant announcement during a news conference in Saudi Arabia on Monday. “It’s a propaganda stunt that no one takes seriously and makes the Iranians look foolish,” Hook said.
The U.S. killed Soleimani, who oversaw the Revolutionary Guard’s expeditionary Quds Force, and others in the January strike near Baghdad International Airport. It came after months of rising tensions between the two countries. Iran retaliated with a ballistic missile strike targeting American troops in Iraq."
Still, like anything Trump related, this latest stunt by Iran is finding sympathizers amongst some of the more deranged citizens of our country.
It's our right as Americans to have political differences.
But taking glee at the prospect of handing your own President over to a tyrannical theocratic regime is disgusting.
The demise of a terrorist mastermind should be one topic which unites us as a freedom loving people.
Instead, the man who put an end to his reign of destruction, is villified by the very people he is sworn to protect.
Nevermind justice for American troops in Iraq. Nevermind the innocent civilians his forces killed, maimed, and oppressed-abroad or in his own country.
All they see is TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP!
The Ayatollah should be arrested for inciting these leftwing morons.
