I was beginning to believe that anarchists across the country were going to get away with their mayhem scot-free.
At least if the local governments of these liberal cities were in charge of handling the situation.
Luckily for me, and those of us who value the rule of law, Attorney General William Barr says he is on the case!
As reported by The Daily Wire, AG Barr sat down with Ted Cruz & co-host Michael Knowles to discuss on “The Verdict with Ted Cruz”:
Attorney General William Barr told “Verdict with Ted Cruz” this week that the Department of Justice has hundreds of investigations underway into the violent riots that have occurred across the country in recent weeks, including investigations into the far-left extremist organization Antifa.
“The federal government is best positioned to address this kind of violence and lawlessness after it occurs because we don’t have FBI agents walking the beat,” Barr said. “And in fact, when the real violence started around May 25, 26, and so forth, we started using our joint terrorist task forces around the country. And there are 35 of them around the country. It involves all state and local in those jurisdictions and all the federal agencies. And it’s the system we designed to follow terrorists. And now they are starting to go full bore, cranking out investigations, indictments against the people who are involved in this violence.”
Barr said that they already had “scores of indictments already” against individuals who had been involved in the rioting and destruction of property. Barr added that there are already approximately 500 investigations underway into the crimes that have occurred from the rioting.”
The Washington Examiner also covered the story:
"They want to tear down the country. They are different than many traditional groups, and frequently, the signs of coordination and activity are very close to the event itself," the attorney general said. "So like the morning of or the day before, and things are very fast-moving. But we definitely see signs out on the street of communication, of organization, of preplanning, prepositioning of things. So it's definitely organized activity.”
Barr, Cruz, and Knowles speculated that demonstrators had no understanding about the background of historical figures whose monuments they'd like to tear down. "Old guy with a beard, he's gotta be bad," Cruz said.
"They're going after Saint Junipero Serra!" Knowles quipped earlier. "And Cervantes!" Cruz added.
Barr said in late May that it appeared that "anarchic" and "far-left extremist groups" were responsible for the growing violence and riots that occurred simultaneously with protests following Floyd's death. Barr declared that the violence being “instigated and carried out” by "antifa and other similar groups" in connection to nationwide protesting is “domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly.”
This month, Barr referred to a “witch’s brew” of extremist groups involved in the protests. Among the people recently arrested are alleged members of the right-wing extremist 'boogaloo' movement.
Since then, activists have claimed that Confederate statues, which pay tribute to Confederate leaders such as Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee, ought to be torn down. Demonstrators, however, have also attempted to tear down or petition local governments to decommission statues of historical figures such as former Presidents George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Ulysses S. Grant."
In the bizarro world of left wing media, these demonstrations are harmless expressions of an oppressed group excercising their rights.
Fighting peacefully towards change.
Hardly an easy narrative to maintain when your reporter is getting harassed on live tv.
Now that we have established that media lives don't matter, let's challenge the idea that these groups are simply frustrated Americans taking on injustice.
Just a few weeks ago, AG Barr revealed an unsettling reality.
As reported by our friends at Fox News:
This echoed what a senior Justice Department official told Fox News Wednesday about how the feds have seen signs of "very organized" coordination from "professional" agitators, some linked to Antifa. Barr made it clear Thursday that there was a "witches brew" of extremists with varying ideologies, including anarchists and those seeking to incite a civil war.
There have been more than 100 arrests in Washington as a result of the protests and riots related to the death of Floyd in Minneapolis, according to federal officials. Around 20 of those people were not charged. Meanwhile, 70 to 75 people have been charged with crimes such as assault, breaking and entering, destruction of property and other violations.
Barr said that the Justice Department has used real-time intelligence and other resources to quell the violence and that the government "will continue to investigate, to make arrests, and to prosecute[.]"
The implication that foreign actors may be inject themselves into internal American conflict should frighten all of us.
Especially those who have been screaming about RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA! for years now.
Surprised?
I'm not.
The details of ongoing investigations are never discussed in public.
But the truth will always be denied for extremists on the left who are bent on fundamentally destroying America as we know it.
And now we may have 500 more ways to prove their hypocrisy.
