Attention Marxists, Anarchists, and Antifa Fascists looking to take down monuments to American history:
Don’t do the crime, if you can’t do the time.
As reported byABC News:
"We are looking at long term jail sentences for these vandals, hoodlums, anarchists and agitators. Some people don't like that language, but that's what they are: Bad people. They don't love our country, and they're not taking down our monuments," he said. "I just want that to be clear."
Trump had tweeted he'd already "authorized" the federal government to "arrest anyone who vandalizes or destroys any monument, statue or other such Federal property in the U.S."
.
They chanted "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Andrew Jackson's got to go," as they threw ropes around the bronze statue of the seventh president, depicted atop a horse in Lafayette Square.
Police eventually intervened Monday and used chemical irritants to disperse the crowd.
The vandals being masqueraded as "protesters" by the mainstream media have been on a rampage over the last couple weeks tearing down and defacing monuments all over the country.
Civil War era, tributes to the our founding fathers, religious figures, abolitionists....you name it, they're trying to destroy it.
President Trump isn't the only one fed up with the flagrant lawlessness being tolerated by inept local government around the country.
According to Newsweek, Republican Senator Tom Cotton would like immediate and decisive action to protect monuments across the nation:
In a letter to Attorney General William Barr, he wrote: "It's past time to stop the mob; these vandals should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Unfortunately, local authorities, who normally would prosecute such crimes, have proven unwilling in many cases to uphold the rule of law. In some cities, it appears that feckless politicians have directed police to stand idly by while mobs rampage.
"Thus, I urge the Department of Justice to bring charges against these criminals. They aren't exactly criminal masterminds, typically filming their crimes and posting the videos on social media. Federal laws such as the Anti-Riot Act and the Veterans Memorial Preservation and Recognition Act should cover some crimes. Other federal laws may also apply."
These mobs aren't looking to redeem past injustices.
They are trying to erase the memory of our American past.
By disconnecting the public from the lessons of history, these radicals will attempt to indoctrinate the masses into a culture of shame.
The Founding fathers, the Civil War, abolitionists and slave holders alike, are all part of what shaped America in to what it is today.
The greatest experiment in democracy on Earth.
We can't let the story be rewritten by people who hate it.
