Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell just went scorched earth on the Democrats…
And it was glorious!
During a fiery speech on the Senate floor McConnell warned Democrats that investigations into the Obama administration are coming.
An increasing body of declassified evidence suggests that the Obama administration abused its powers to undermine the incoming Trump adminsitration by unmasking General Flynn and spurring the fake Russia probe.
McConnell warned Democrats, "The American people deserve answers about how such abuses could happen and we intend to get those answers."
Watch McConnell's epic speech below!
In the same speech, McConnell also blasted Democrats and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for using the coronavirus pandemic to push partisan policies under the guise of a stimulus bill.
It FINALLY looks like the establishment GOP is circling the wagons around President Trump.
Time and time again, Trump has been vindicated of corruption and collusion.
The irony is that the more the Democrats investigate Trump, the more evidence is revealed about corruption in the Obama administration.
This is exactly what Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell wants to get to the bottom of.
ABC News reports that McConnell is endorsing the Senate's investigation of the Mueller probe:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell -- just days after President Donald Trump pushed the senior Republican to get on board -- gave a full-throated endorsement of an aggressive Senate Republican investigation of the counterintelligence probe into whether the then-candidate and his campaign colluded with the Russians in 2016.
"Senate Republicans are taking steps to issue new subpoenas to a wide variety of Obama administration officials with some relationship to the abuses," McConnell said in a floor speech Tuesday, referencing errors made with the surveillance of a former Trump campaign official and the prosecution of former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, which the Department of Justice has moved to dismiss. "The American people deserve answers about how such abuses could happen, and we intend to get those answers."
The notable move by the Republican leader, who once supported the Mueller probe and is a strong supporter of the foreign surveillance laws, came after the president tweeted over the weekend, "Mitch, I love you, but this is 100% true. Time is running out. Get tough and move quickly, or it will be too late. The Dems are vicious, but got caught. They MUST pay a big price for what they have done to our Country. Don't let them get away with this!"
The president traveled to Capitol Hill Tuesday, in part, to hammer home that very message in a closed-door lunch with Senate Republicans, according to four GOP senators.
Attendees said afterward that Trump encouraged the group to "get tough" on the federal investigators he has long decried as "corrupt," those who led the probe known as "Crossfire Hurricane." He also encouraged them to unify and fight back because -- he said -- Democrats will continue to stick together to attack him.
A growing body of declassified evidence suggests that top Obama administration officials new that the Russia probe was a hoax from the very beginning.
If the Russia hoax is not fully exposed, then this sets a dangerous precedent of political witch hunts and smear tactics.
It is important that we have full transpancy in government, so that our politicians work together for the good of the American people.
Instead, it appears that the Democrat party has been focused on destroying a duly elected president.
Even as the COVID-19 pandemic rages around the world, Democrats appear more intent on perpetually impeaching President Trump than ever.
How is our government ever going to WIN against the virus if half of it is actively fighting against a duly elected president?
McConnell warned Democrats that Republicans will "govern the country" without them, Fox News reports:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday accused House Democrats of playing “perpetual impeachment,” while claiming the GOP-led Senate is working to “govern the country” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
McConnell, R-Ky., from the Senate floor, described Capitol Hill as “a tale of two chambers.”
“Over here in the United States Senate, the lights are on, the doors are open, and we are working for the American people,” McConnell said, noting the Senate has been in session all month working to pass legislation on national security, and hold hearings on the coronavirus crisis.
“And across the rotunda, in the House? Crickets,” McConnell said. “Their lights are off. Their doors are locked. ‘The People’s House’ has shown up for a grand total of two legislative session days since late March.”
He added: “But they did find the time to keep fishing for another impeachment.
“More than a year after the Mueller Report thoroughly debunked the collusion conspiracy theory, Democrats are still pursuing the administration in court over that document,” McConnell said, referring to a new Supreme Court brief filed by House Democrats this week.
House Democrats told the Supreme Court Monday that they are again in the midst of an “ongoing presidential impeachment investigation” as part of their “weighty constitutional responsibility,” and argued that redacted grand-jury material from former special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe must be turned over for their review.
Top Democrats have repeatedly suggested since President Trump was acquitted on both articles of impeachment in February, that they might initiate new impeachment proceedings.
The fact that House Democrats are so intent on trying to impeach President Trump again suggests that they know that Joe Biden will LOSE to Trump in November!
We have a presidential election less than half a year away.
Why don't the Democrats leave it up to the people to decide?
Or... maybe that's exactly what they're afraid of!
