GOP Senate Committee Authorizes Subpoena Into Burisma-Connected Firm

The Biden-Burisma scandal is gaining momentum!

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has just voted to issue a subpoena to Blue Star Strategies.

Though based in the U.S., Blue Star Strategies is connected to Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.

The subpoena is part of the panel's probe into potential Biden-Burisma corruption.

On Wednesday, the committee voted 8-6 to issue the subpoena.

Even Senator Mitt Romney of Utah, the sole Republican to vote against President Trump during the impeachment process, voted to APPROVE the subpoena!

You know things aren't looking too good for Hunter Biden if even Mitt Romney sides with the rest of the Republicans…

More details on this developing story below:

If former vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden were involved in corruption with Burisma, then the American people need to know!

Unlike the probes into President Trump, there is an increasing body of evidence proving corruption within Burisma -- as well as a potential connection with the Bidens.

Fox News has more details on the subpoena and what it entails:

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday voted to subpoena Blue Star Strategies — a company connected to the Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings -- as part of the panel’s investigation into Hunter Biden’s role on the board of the firm.

The committee voted on party lines, 8-6, to subpoena Blue Star Strategies, the consulting firm linked to Biden and Burisma. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, who sits on the committee, voted with Republican colleagues to approve the subpoena.

Committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., announced earlier this year his plans to subpoena Blue Star Strategies for records to review potential conflicts of interest in Biden's role on the board of Burisma, and whether individuals at the firm improperly used the relationship with 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's son to “influence” U.S. government agencies.

The subpoena would cover records dating back to January 1, 2013, regarding their work for Burisma Holdings, or individuals associated with Burisma’s founder, Mykola Zlochevsky. He also wants Blue Star CEO Karen Tramontano and Chief Operating Officer Sally Painter for depositions.

But the head of Blue Star Strategies penned a letter to Johnson and Republicans on the committee on Wednesday morning, highlighting their past cooperation with the panel's requests, and questioning why they would subpoena further documents.

"At every opportunity we have indicated tot he Committee that it is our intention to cooperate,” Karen A Tramontano, the co-founder and CEO of Blue Star wrote to the committee. “Therefore, we are puzzled, despite our willingness to cooperate, why the committee is proceeding to vote on a subpoena.”

Tramontano went on to request that the committee “take into consideration that we have eagerly cooperated to date and have every intention to continue to do so in the future.”

A committee spokesperson told Fox News Wednesday that "a bipartisan group of committee members suggested that we subpoena Blue Star Strategies, so we authorized that today."

"The fact is Blue Star has delayed our efforts for more than five months, and even refused to let our staff speak to their attorney until last week--despite the fact that he was speaking with the Ranking Member's staff," the spokesperson told Fox News. "Their only real efforts came after we noticed this markup, and we know even those have been woefully incomplete."

Biden's connection and work for Burisma has received immense scrutiny, but this is the first formal step into truly investigating the scandal.

Now, top leaders in the Senate are investigating potential conflicts of interest between the Bidens and political influence by Ukraine, including Burisma.

As the Biden-Burisma probe gains momentum, at least 1 Republican Senator wants to publish a report as soon as June.

While the report would be far from complete, Senator Ron Johnson wants transparency and for the public to be aware of the investigation's status.

The Hill confirms that an initial report could be just a few weeks away:

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Wednesday that he wants to release a report on his investigation into Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings and Hunter Biden as soon as next month.

“I'd like to get something out in the June timeframe, personally, certainly before the August recess,” Johnson told reporters, asked about his previous comments that he wanted to release an interim report over the summer.

Johnson and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) are months into a wide-ranging investigation stemming from the Obama administration, part of which is about the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.

They said in a request for information earlier this year that they were looking at “potential conflicts of interest posed by the business activities of Hunter Biden and his associates during the Obama administration."

Johnson and Grassley have since received documents from multiple agencies, including the State and Treasury departments and the National Archives.

Johnson noted Wednesday that staff are compiling the report as they get the information from the administration.

"They go through that and they're writing up sections of the report. And kind of once we think we have enough body of information here to basically tell the basic story, we'll assemble all of those write-ups and issue our report," Johnson said.

His comments come after Republicans on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted Wednesday to issue the first subpoena of the investigation. It's also the first subpoena to come out of any of the GOP probes tied to the Obama administration.

This subpoena will cover records going as far back as January 1, 2013.

As more about Biden's relationship with Burisma is discovered, expect the Democrats to create a "distraction" with endless investigations into President Trump.

House Democrats have already made their intentions of attempting a second impeachment known.

In fact, a panel is already holding a Mueller-style investigation into the Trump administration's response to COVID-19... even AS the pandemic is unfolding.

But... these endless witch hunts into President Trump are just distractions.

He has been vindicated time and time again.

It's time for the truth about Burisma to finally be revealed.
