Leaked Phone Call Between Biden and Ukrainian President Appears to Confirm Foreign Aid Was Tied to Firing of Burisma Prosecutor

Almost everyone in the mainstream media told us there was nothing to see when it came to the Bidens and Ukraine.

Hunter Biden collecting $50,000 monthly checks from Burisma, a Ukrainian company, while his dad spearheads foreign policy in the country?

Not a problem according to the media and Democrats!

When a Ukrainian prosecutor began investigating Burisma, Biden demanded that the Ukrainian President either fire the prosecutor or go without $1 billion in foreign aid.

Of course the Ukrainian President acquiesced and fired the prosecutor and Hunter Biden went on collecting his payments for doing whatever he did for the company.

Before, we had the following video clip where Biden admits to tying the foreign aid to the firing of the prosecutor:

The media and Democrats were quick to dismiss the video, with many saying Biden simply was joking about tying the foreign aid to the prosecutor’s dismissal. Others simply didn’t acknowledge the video’s existence.

Now, we have a leaked phone call between Biden and former Ukrainian President Poroshenko where Biden ties the billion in foreign aid to the prosecutor’s firing in his own words.

Here’s details from ZeroHedge on the phone call between Biden and the Ukrainian President:

Leaked phone calls between Joe Biden and former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko explicitly detail the quid-pro-quo arrangement to fire former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin - who Poroshenko admits did nothing wrong - in exchange for $1 billion in US loan guarantees (which Biden openly bragged about in January, 2018).

The calls were leaked by Ukrainian MP Andrii Derkach, who says the recordings of "voices similar to Poroshenko and Biden" were given to him by investigative journalists who claim Poroshenko made them.

Shokin was notably investigating Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company that hired Biden's son, Hunter, to sit on its board. Shokin had opened a case against Burisma's founder, Mykola Zlochevsky, who granted Burisma permits to drill for oil and gas in Ukraine while he was Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources. In January, 2019, Shokin stated in a deposition that there were five criminal cases against Zlochevesky, including money laundering, corruption, illegal funds transfers, and profiteering through shell corporations while he was a sitting minister.

The leaked calls begin on December 3, 2015, when former Secretary of State John Kerry starts laying out the case to fire Shokin - who he says "blocked the cleanup of the Prosecutor Generals' Office," and sated that Biden "is very concerned about it," to which Poroshenko replies that the newly reorganized prosecutor general's office (NABU) won't be able to pursue corruption charges, and that it may be difficult to fire Shokin without cause.

Later in the leaked audio on February 18, 2016 - less than three months after the Kerry conversation - Poroshenko delivers some "positive news."

"Yesterday I met with General Prosecutor Shokin," says Poroshenko. And despite of the fact that we didn't have any corruption charges, we don't have any information about him doing something wrong, I specially asked him - no, it was day before yesterday - I specially asked him to resign. In, uh, as his, uh, position as a state person. And despite of the fact that he has a support in the power. And as a finish of my meeting with him, he promised to give me the statement on resignation. And one hour ago he bring me the written statement of his resignation. And this is my second step for keeping my promises."

To which Biden replied: "I agree.”

Four weeks later on March 22, 2016, Biden says "Tell me that there is a new government and a new Prosecutor General. I am prepared to do a public signing of the commitment for the billion dollars."

Now doesn’t that sound like a “quid pro quo?”

The Democrats impeached Trump for an action he didn’t do, but Biden did do.

It goes to show the double-standard thinking of the Democrats, where they can get away with murder and everyone else is always on trial.

The Washington Post has further details on the leaked phone call:

A Ukrainian lawmaker who met with Rudolph W. Giuliani late last year released recordings of private phone calls between former vice president Joe Biden and former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko in a new broadside against the presumptive Democratic nominee for U.S. president that has raised questions about foreign interference in the 2020 election.

Andriy Derkach, an independent member of Ukraine’s parliament who previously aligned with a pro-Russian faction, said at a news conference in Kyiv on Tuesday that he had received the tapes — which consist of edited fragments of phone conversations Biden and Poroshenko had while still in office — from “investigative journalists.” He alleged they were made by Poroshenko.

Derkach has past links to Russian intelligence. He attended the Dzerzhinsky Higher School of the KGB in Moscow. His father served as a KGB officer for decades before becoming head of independent Ukraine’s intelligence service in the late 1990s. His father was fired from that post amid a scandal over a Ukrainian journalist who was kidnapped and murdered.

The recordings played at the news conference Tuesday shed relatively little new light on Biden’s actions in Ukraine, which were at the center of President Trump’s impeachment last year. They show that Biden, as he has previously said publicly, linked loan guarantees for Ukraine to the ouster of the country’s prosecutor general in 2015. But Derkach used the new clips to make an array of accusations not proven by the tapes.

Donald Trump Jr., the president’s son, posted one of the recordings on Twitter hours later and implied impropriety by Biden. “Yikes!!!! This is not a ‘perfect conversation,’ ” Trump Jr. wrote.

The events have echoes of the 2016 presidential election, when Russian operatives hacked and released emails from the campaign manager of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and officials at the Democratic National Committee, in what U.S. intelligence agencies later concluded was a Moscow-directed operation designed to boost Trump.

While it’s impossible to impeach a former Vice President, the American people deserve an investigation into what really went on in Ukraine with the Bidens.
