Black Navy Vet Joe E. Collins III Declares GOP Challenge for Maxine Waters’ Seat

Joe E. Collins III is a highly respected veteran.

He has faithfully served this great nation.

And now he’s on another mission…

This time as a Republican… and his mission is to unseat Maxin Waters!

Collins has a message for the people of California’s 43rd Congressional District, and it’s a message that should resonate with the entire Democrat-run state: “We deserve better!”

These may be strange days for campaigning.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made traditional retail politics difficult. It’s practically impossible for candidates to shake hands and form relationships with would-be voters.

But Collins is using social media to get his message heard loud and wide: It’s time to unseat Maxine Waters!

More details on Collins groundbreaking campaign below:

Maxine Waters has been attempting to undermine President Trump rather than help the people in her district.

Collins is raising the alarm that Democrats such as California Governor Newsom and Waters are more likely to support policies that help illegal immigrants rather than American citizens.

Waters is known for her outlandish ramblings, while Collins is using leadership learned from the U.S. Navy to help people.

The Western Journal has more on the message that Collins has for the people of the 43rd District:

However, Waters also has a challenger in her deep-blue district who has a message for everyone who keeps voting for one of the strangest and most corrupt individuals to ever stride the hallways of Congress.

And that challenger has a message: “We deserve better.”

At a demonstration Saturday across from Los Angeles City Hall, protesting the state and local governments’ handling of lockdowns to contain the coronavirus, Joe E. Collins III — a Navy veteran trying to end three decades of Waters treating her elected post as a sinecure — challenged Republicans “to stand up together and fight” against Waters in November’s election.

In a video posted to his Twitter account on Saturday — the day of the protest — Collins said elected officials in California needed to answer for the shutdown.

“Right across the street from City Hall,” Collins said during the protest. “No disrespect to law enforcement for being out here and making sure everyone’s safe. But we need [Los Angeles Democrat Mayor Eric Garcetti] to answer for this.

“We need Gavin Newsom to answer for this. We need every single legislator in Los Angeles County to answer for this. Because this is ridiculous. We deserve better.

“But yet, they want to impeach President Trump,” Collins added. “At least he’s trying. He may not be perfect, but at least he’s trying to do something.”

Collins said it was time to vote Waters out “because we need to take care of our own people. Long gone are the days when we have politicians that just sit around and talk about what they’re gonna do. We need action.”

“We’re citizens of the United States. We live here in California. We deserve better,” he said. “Everybody in South Los Angeles is struggling, and we have to stand up and we have to tell them, no more.”

While many view Collins' run for Maxine Waters' seat a long-shot, he is making waves in Southern California.

Though the state is often viewed as a liberal cesspool, there are many areas of the state that are friendly towards conservatives.

Even if Collins' doesn't win against Waters, he could potentially build a viable path to be an influence in the state.

According to his official website, Collins served during "Operation Iraqi Freedom."

He felt called to run because of the diviseness of the 2016 elections.

As a vet, Collins has already taken an oath to defend our country and its people, and serving in Maxine Waters' chair would be another way to fulfill that oath.

According to the Joe Collins for Congress website:

Joe Collins is a 13 1/2-year Navy Veteran from South Central LA. He grew up on 104th and Normandie, and knows this district all too well; Extreme amounts of Homelessness, Crime, Lack of Quality Education, and High Gang Activity.

While Joe was a freshman in high school, he and his family were at his Grandfathers Church in South Central LA one Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, a drive-by shooting was happening outside of their home. Upon returning, they found that bullets had made their way through the windows and into the cushions of the family sofa.

This was the moment that Joe Collins’ mother decided for her children, that would change their lives forever. She decided to move her family to a rural outside of Dallas Texas (Joe’s mother is still a teacher in the suburbs of Dallas).

After finishing high school in Texas, Joe made the most important decision of his life; Joe Collins joined the U.S. Navy.

Joe worked on and trained thousands of sailors on many types of aircraft including the F-18 Super Hornet, E6 Mercury, and the MH60 Sea-hawk. With the help of the U.S. Navy, he also became a licensed financial professional, as well as a Certified Counselor for rape and sexual assault victims. Joe also was a recruiter and earned numerous honors and awards. This was a role Joe enjoyed immensely, as he had the pleasure of jump-starting the careers for many of our young American leaders of today.

Joe proudly served during the successful campaign, “Operation Iraqi Freedom”. Joe left the U.S. Navy in Sept of 2017, with a desire to continue serving his country, and this time it would be in a Leadership role in politics.

While Collins may be the underdog, so was President Trump.

No matter what the outcome of the election, we thank Collins for his service.

We wish him a successful campaign against Maxine Waters!
