Trump had a massive announcement fit for a massive crowd.
In Colorado Springs, Trump supporters waited in line for hours to get into the venue.
And oh boy, the wait was worth it!
Trump delivered another great speech in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
But one of the highlights of the speech was an announcement regarding Space Force.
Could Space Force soon call Colorado home?
Take a look:
For something as exciting and game-changing as Space Force, it makes sense that Trump would want to make an announcement in front of a sold out arena.
Fox News has more details:
Now that the U.S. has a Space Force, the new military branch needs a terrestrial home base.
The location of that future base is still up in the air, President Trump said during a campaign rally in Colorado Springs Thursday night.
“I will be making a big decision for the Space Force as to where it’s going to be located, and I know you [in Colorado] want it,” Trump said. “We’ll be making that decision toward the end of the year.”
The Space Force was born from the former Air Force Space Command, which was headquartered at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. The Space Command’s bases also included Buckley and Peterson in Colorado, Los Angeles and Vandenberg in California and Patrick in Florida. Due to the nature of its work, many of its units were spread around the world.
Space Force leadership has continued to operate out of Peterson since the redesignation in December.
During his rally, Trump even said that Colorado Governor Jared Polis even tried to "lobby" him for the Space Force headquarters.
The massive crowd loved every moment.
See for yourself!
Colorado is a "purple" state.
It's one of the states that Trump wants to flip to red in November.
Could the promise of Space Force help?
While Trump stated he hadn't made a final decision, he hinted strongly that Colorado Springs is a favorite.
The Denver Post has more:
And while Trump’s Democratic opponents earned dismissive boos from the crowd, they were excited at the notion of U.S. Space Command permanently settling in Colorado Springs, where it’s operating on a temporary basis.
The city is in strong consideration for the spot, Trump said.
“The governor showed up at the plane today — your governor, a Democrat,” Trump said of Jared Polis. “He showed up because he wanted to lobby to see if we could get it here.”
Though Trump offered hints, he said no final decision has been reached. One might come by the end of the year, he said.
