KRDO, the local news, reports that people were lined up over 24 hours just to secure a seat inside the stadium.
People started lining up in the parking lot at the Broadmoor World Arena more than 24 hours ahead of time to snag the best spots for President Donald Trump's campaign rally Thursday in Colorado Springs.
By 9:30 a.m. Thursday, the entire parking lot was at capacity.Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are scheduled to speak at the World Arena in support of their own campaign and Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner's campaign.
It's one thing to be able to hold a huge rally.
But it's another thing to be able to hold back-to-back rallies with building enthusiasm and support.
While the Phoenix rally was at capacity at 3:30 pm, the Colorado Springs rally appears to have reached capacity by 9:30 am.
The Denver Post also reports that Vice President Mike Pence as well as U.S. Senator Cory Gardner will be speaking before Trump takes the stage.
Thousands of people filled a Colorado Springs arena Thursday afternoon, hours before a Trump campaign rally.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to take the stage around 5 p.m. at the Broadmoor World Arena. U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, a Yuma Republican, is expected to speak before the Republican president, who is known for his boisterous rallies. Vice President Mike Pence will also be in attendance.
Rep. Doug Lamborn, a Colorado Springs Republican and strong supporter of the president, said Thursday that he is eager to greet Trump. The president is expected to arrive on Air Force 1 around 4 p.m. before making his way to the Broadmoor arena.
“Donald Trump’s blue-collar boom is the largest economic expansion in history,” Lamborn said before the rally. “The president and vice president have created thousands of jobs in our district alone. Their pro-growth and pro-jobs agenda has led to record low unemployment throughout Colorado and the USA.”
Thursday’s speech will be Trump’s second in the conservative bastion of Colorado Springs in the past year. Last April, he spoke at the Air Force Academy’s graduation, delivering a tightly scripted speech. Thursday’s remarks will sound much different.
The enthusiasm continues to build!
Thousands of voters unable to get into the rally will be able to watch it streamed on a large screen outside of the arena.
It is currently 12 degrees in Colorado Springs.
The frigid temperatures aren't stopping these enthusiastic supporters from showing their support for President Trump!
