Trump continues to fulfill his promise to build a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
The border wall will curb the illegal immigration and humanitarian crisis happening at the border.
The White House announced today that the administration has secured funding to build an additional 1,000 miles of new border wall.
According to the Daily Caller:
The Trump administration is shifting its border wall focus from procuring resources to breaking ground on new construction after securing funds for 1,000 miles of new wall along the southern border, White House officials tell the Daily Caller.
The fiscal year 2021 budget requests fewer funds for border wall construction than in previous years, but a senior White House official explained how the administration has “now shifted from securing funds to being able to build more wall.”
Acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan said in January he expects to meet President Donald Trump’s goal of erecting 450 miles of new border wall construction by the end of 2020, and the White House maintained that optimism Sunday.
“On the border, there’s great news to report,” the official told the Caller. “The president has kept his promise to secure the border. With funding available, the administration will build up to approximately 1,000 miles of border wall along the southwest border.”
“The 2021 budget request, which has increases for infrastructure, technology, and law enforcement personnel, is what’s required to gain operational control of the border.”
According to White House officials familiar with the fiscal year 2021 proposal, the budget request for Customs and Border Patrol jumped to $15.6 billion, up roughly 7 percent from last year’s enacted total. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also saw a significant budget bump, with a funding request just shy of $10 billion.
While this is excellent news for the country, it also bolsters Trump’s re-election campaign.
One theme of the campaign is the message of “Promises Made, Promises Kept.” The announcement of funding for 1,000 miles of new border wall reinforces that message.

While Democrats are trying to obstruct President Trump at every turn, he is working to keep his promise to the American people.
In securing funding for 1,000 miles of new border wall, Trump is keeping another promise to the American people: under budget and ahead of schedule.
The Trump administration is requesting less money, yet will be able to focus on constructing more border wall than the previous 3 years.
The National Review reports:
The White House will request only $2 billion for border-wall construction in next fiscal year’s budget, with officials saying the administration has close to enough funding to start focusing on building new sections of wall.
Last year, the administration requested $5 billion for the wall, a priority for President Trump since the earliest days of his 2016 campaign, sparking a stand-off with Democrats in Congress, who refused to approve more than $1.375 for wall construction. That budget was finally signed after a record 35-day partial government shutdown beginning just before Christmas, 2018.
Afterwards, Trump declared the situation at the border a national emergency in February of last year, and the administration rerouted $3.6 billion from military construction projects to border wall construction.
Now, the Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security will together put $8.4 billion toward wall construction, officials said. In all, the White House has collected $18 billion for the wall, which officials estimate will cover its goal of building approximately 1,000 miles of border wall, including 450 miles of new wall, by the end of 2020.
This is great news for President Trump.
More importantly, this is great news for America!
