Senators from Oklahoma have just proposed to create state license plates with the slogan “Make America Great Again” or “Keep America Great” for residents of Oklahoma to choose from out of options for their cars’ license plates.
Doing so is not without legal complications, since the slogan is a political one, but if it is passed, the license plate proceeds would go to benefitting veterans.

Breitbart has more to say:
Two Oklahoma state senators introduced a bill Tuesday proposing license plates with Make America Great Again and Keep America Great on them.
“I was joined today by Sen Marty Quinn to file our bill creating Make America Great Again #MAGA & Keep America Great #KAG license plates,” Republican Sen. Nathan Dahm wrote in a Facebook post.
“Proceeds from them would go to 2 veterans groups here in Oklahoma: Folds of Honor & Warriors for Freedom Foundation.”
Pages 47 and 48 of Senate Bill1384 said of the proposed license plates:
Make America Great Again License Plate – such plates shall be designed and issued to any person wishing to demonstrate support for the proclamation made by Donald J. Trump to “Make America Great Again”. The license plates shall be designed in consultation with the corporation or entity designated by Donald J. Trump for such purposes.
The Tax Commission shall be authorized to enter into a licensing agreement with the corporation or entity designated by Donald J. Trump for such purposes for any licensing fees which may be required in order to use the organization’s logo or design.
The licensing agreement shall provide for a payment to the Folds of Honor Foundation of not more than Ten Dollars ($10.00) and a payment to the Warriors for Freedom Foundation of not more than Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each license plate issued.
Omaha World Herald gave more details:
Two Tulsa-area lawmakers who want to name a stretch of Oklahoma highway for President Donald Trump also want to put his campaign slogans on state license plates.
State Sens. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, and Marty Quinn, R-Claremore, have filed legislation to create “Make America Great Again” and “Keep America Great” license plates.
Senate Bill 1384 says the plates “shall be designed in consultation with the corporation or entity designated by Donald J. Trump for such purposes. The (Oklahoma) Tax Commission shall be authorized to enter into a licensing agreement with the corporation or entity designated by Donald J. Trump for such purposes for any licensing fees which may be required in order to use the organization’s logo or design.”
The bill says proceeds from the sales will benefit the Folds of Honor and Warriors of Freedom foundations, two Oklahoma-based organizations that provide services to veterans and their survivors.
The tags would cost $35 over and above the usual taxes and fees associated with vehicle registration.
