Here’s another highly-credentialed, highly-respected person coming out and saying enough with the nonsense, there was absolutely nothing wrong with President Trump’s call to Ukraine’s President Zelensky.
Thank you Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg!
If you’d like to know a little more about his credentials, start here:
Joseph Keith Kellogg Jr. (born May 12, 1944), known as Keith Kellogg, is a United States government official and a retired Lieutenant General in the United States Army.[1] He currently serves as the National Security Advisor to Vice President Mike Pence. He previously served as the Executive Secretary and Chief of Staff of the United States National Security Council in the Trump administration. Notably, he served as National Security Advisor on an acting basis following the resignation of Michael T. Flynn.
Kellogg is speaking out after another Pence advisor said she “had concerns” about the call.
Kellogg says that’s total BS.
“I was on the much-reported July 25 call between President Donald Trump and President Zelensky.”
“I heard nothing wrong or improper on the call. I had and have no concerns”
Axios has more:
Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, who serves as national security adviser to Vice President Pence, rebuked his colleague Jennifer Williams' claim that the call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky was "inappropriate" in a statement on Tuesday.
What he's saying:
"I was on the much-reported July 25 call between President Donald Trump and President Zelensky. ... I heard nothing wrong or improper on the call. I had and have no concerns. Ms. Williams was also on the call, and as she testified, she never reported any personal or professional concerns to me, her direct supervisor, regarding the call."— Keith Kellogg
- "In fact, she never reported any personal or professional concerns to any other member of the Vice President’s staff, including our Chief of Staff and the Vice President," Kellogg added.
Context: Williams, an aide to Pence on Europe and Russia, said she deemed the conversation between Trump and Zelensky "unusual and inappropriate," according to a transcript from her recent closed-door testimony.
- Williams noted she is unaware of any evidence of wrongdoing by former Vice President Joe Biden in Ukraine in her public testimony on Tuesday.
- She added that she does not identify as a "Never Trumper," despite an attack from the president calling her such.
And from PBS:
The vice president’s national security adviser is pushing back after a subordinate said she had concerns about President Donald Trump’s call with the Ukrainian president.
Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg says of the July 25 conversation: “I heard nothing wrong or improper on the call. I had and have no concerns.”
He released a statement after the testimony of Jennifer Williams, who was detailed to Vice President Mike Pence’s staff from the State Department. Williams testified Tuesday that she found the call “unusual” since it “involved discussion of what appeared to be a domestic political matter.”
Williams said she never raised the call with her superiors, since Kellogg was also listening in on the call.
Beginning January 20, 2017, I was privileged to serve as Chief of Staff at the National Security Council. Since April 23, 2018, I have served as National Security Advisor to the Vice President of the United States. Â In my role in the Office of the Vice President, Jennifer Williams, a detailee from the U.S. Department of State, has reported to me since April 1, 2019.
I was on the much-reported July 25 call between President Donald Trump and President Zelensky. As an exceedingly proud member of President Trump’s Administration and as a 34-year highly experienced combat veteran who retired with the rank of Lieutenant General in the Army, I heard nothing wrong or improper on the call. I had and have no concerns.  Ms. Williams was also on the call, and as she testified, she never reported any personal or professional concerns to me, her direct supervisor, regarding the call. In fact, she never reported any personal or professional concerns to any other member of the Vice President’s staff, including our Chief of Staff and the Vice President.
Today, in her testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Ms. Williams also accurately testified regarding the Vice President’s preparation for and conduct during his September 1 meeting in Poland with President Zelensky. In her testimony, she affirmed that the Vice President focused on President Zelensky’s anti-corruption efforts and the lack of European support and never mentioned former Vice President Joe Biden, Crowdstrike, Burisma, or investigations in any communication with Ukrainians.
In my over 40-years in uniform and additional federal service, I am honored to serve this President and this Vice President as we advance the interests of the American people.
