If you haven’t been convinced yet that the left is infected with delusional neurotism blind to the reality of the world we’re living in, what Democrat New Mexico Rep. Debra Haaland just said about Antifa – the organization Trump is willing to declare terrorists after they’ve violently attacked those who disagree with them, like conservative journalist Andy Ngo and many more in Portland – will change your mind.
Haaland appeared on CNN, where she was asked to respond to this tweet by President Trump:
Instead of facing up to the facts of the merit behind President Trump's condemnation of the liberal "anti-fascist" hooligans that are pretty much synonymous with riots, violence, and destruction, Rep. Debra Haaland used the opportunity to spin Trump's tweet back around on the president.
She blamed Trump for Antifa's terrorism, saying,
"This is on par with what the president does. He sides with the white supremacists, he sides with the white nationalists, with the domestic terrorists in our country. He's incited violence against people of color. Portland is a progressive city. They want to ensure that they keep their city moving forward."
Then, she went as far as to say that Antifa was made up of "peaceful protestors,"
"It's not surprising that Trump would side away from the folks who are the peaceful protesters working to safeguard their city from domestic terrorism. Just not surprised at all that the president sides with the white nationalists. That's been his mode of operation since before he was elected president."
Watch for yourself here:
Hmm...something's not adding up.
Let's take a look at the "peaceful protestors" Ms. Haaland is referring to:
Sorry, but attacking folks in a bus is not my definition of "peaceful protest."
Is it yours?
The Washington Examiner has more to say about the Democrat congresswoman's delusion:
Democratic Rep. Debra Haaland of New Mexico referred to antifa as a group of "peaceful protesters" who are simply trying to "safeguard their city" during a Saturday evening interview on CNN.
Haaland's comments came the same day that antifa and far-right protesters clashed in Portland, Oregon. The fighting led to 13 arrests in what was just the most recent incidents of violence between the two groups. Earlier on Saturday, President Trump tweeted that he is giving "major consideration" to designating antifa as an "organization of terror."
The Daily Caller also said:
Democratic New Mexico Rep. Deb Haaland described Antifa as “peaceful protesters” Saturday, the same day members of the violent group clashed with the right-wing Proud Boys in Portland.
Haaland offered the inaccurate description on CNN after President Donald Trump tweeted “Major consideration is being given to naming ANTIFA an “ORGANIZATION OF TERROR.'”
“This is on par with what the president does. He sides with the white supremacists, the white nationalists, with the domestic terrorists in our country, just as — you know, he has incited violence against people of color,” Haaland said.
