Trump never backed down after calling out “The Squad” (or “four horsewomen of the apocalypse” – take your pick on what you want to call them) last week.
After he came under fire for telling AOC, Omar, Tlaib, and Pressley to “go back and fix” the countries they came from instead of hating on America, President Trump continued to repeat what he said and never once lost his guile as he stood up for himself, much to the approval of his supporters.
Now, even the Dems have admitted defeat in the feud and admitted that “Trump won this one,” as one Democrat lawmaker told CNN.
Take a look at this unaminously agreed upon win for President Trump that is circulating on Twitter:
CNN has the specifics on the admitted Dem defeat:
House Democrats were united in their vote to condemn President Donald Trump's racist tweetsthis week, but some Democratic lawmakers are quietly expressing concern that far-left progressives have outsized influence in their caucus.
Several Democrats -- from across the ideological spectrum -- are growing tired of the repeated headlines involving four progressive congresswomenas the caucus tries to push its agenda. In conversations that took place before the President hosted a rally in North Carolina Wednesday night where the crowds chanted "send her home" in reference to Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Democrats said they want to keep the spotlight on the issues that got them elected, not a fight with the President.
"The President's words and actions speak for themselves. We need to focus on the issues that got (Democrats) here: jobs, health care ... instead of the issues the President brings up deliberately," said one House Democratic lawmaker, who asked for anonymity to speak freely. "Anything that takes away from bread-and-butter issues is playing into his hands."
"The President won this one," said another House Democratic lawmaker of the showdown. "What the President has done is politically brilliant. Pelosi was trying to marginalize these folks, and the President has now identified the entire party with them."
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with many in the caucus, repeatedly described the President's attacks as a distraction this week -- as did members of "the Squad," a nick name for the group made up of Reps. Alexandira Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Omar.
"I encourage the American people and all of us in this room and beyond to not take the bait," Pressley said at a news conference Monday with the other three congresswomen. "This is a disruptive distraction from the issues of care, concern and consequence to the American people."
Given the blistering nature of the President's comments about the congresswomen, leadership felt a strong need to forcefully condemn his words.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who controls the floor, argued this week that responding "in a collective way" with a vote was "absolutely essential for us to do," describing it as an "opportunity to tell America we do not agree. This is offensive. This is wrong in America."
But it's the way they did it -- with a vote that also led to a dramatic fight between Pelosi and Republicans on the floor -- that has some Democrats frustrated, according to multiple sources.
It looks like "The Squad's" fellow Dems aren't too happy with the image that they're casting on all of them through their unpatriotism....
On this, The Washington Examiner had the following to say:
CNN host Jake Tapper talked to a handful of House Democrats off the record who were upset with Ilhan Omar and her allies and believed that President Trump had beaten them in their war of words over the last week.
"The president won this one," one House Democrat told Tapper. "What the president has done is politically brilliant. Pelosi was trying to marginalize these folks and the president has now identified the entire party with them."

"The president's words and actions speak for themselves. We need to focus on the issues that got them here: jobs, health care instead of the issues the president brings up deliberately. Anything that takes away from bread and butter issues is playing into his hands," a second House Democrat told the CNN host.

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) July 17, 2019Other House Democrats are conflicted about whether to defend Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's squad because of threats of challengers against moderate Democrats and some of their controversial rhetoric. One Democrat told Tapper they were upset that the president had a resolution condemning his "go back" remark but that the House Democrats could not even write a resolution "condemning anti-Semitism" by Omar.
"Everybody was completely outraged by what the president said," a third lawmaker said. "And everybody thought it was appropriate to criticize him but this was the first time the House has taken action to criticize him in any way, We couldn't even bring ourselves to have a resolution exclusively condemning anti-Semitism uttered by one of those members [Omar] but we leapt to their defense here."

— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) July 17, 2019House Democrats also pointed to a new resolution Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib introduced Tuesday in support of the boycott, divest, sanctions movement. The resolution compared boycotts of Israel to boycotts of Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and Imperial Japan.
"So we'll hear a tirade of attacks on Israel from the same group," the third Democratic lawmaker said about the resolution. "Hopefully they won't be anti Semitic."
A fourth Democrat added they were worried about the bill coming "from someone with a history of anti-Semitism. So yeah, it's challenging."

House Dem 4 also brought up that bill coming "from someone with a history of anti-Semitism" -- Omar -- "So yeah it’s challenging."The lawmakers also singled out the "squad" for their divisiveness within the House Democratic Caucus.
"I can't tell you the number of Members who are angry and annoyed about them criticizing us," the third member said while the fourth member pointed out the group had said they were "against human rights" for providing humanitarian aid to the border. "We were there for them; they should stop attacking us," the lawmaker added.
Do you think this is indication that the "Squad's" days are numbered?
Perhaps they'll wise up and realize that Trump's nationalism, not their socialism, is what our country needs right now!
